LongHorn Steakhouse

We got some gift cards for Christmas, and unfortunately this was the only restaurant that we could go to. We normally go to Texas Roadhouse for our steaks. Went on a weeknight, wasn't too busy. When possible we like to sit at a table in the bar, so we did. We were told that the bartender would be our server... not so great. The bar wasn't even busy, but waited nearly 10 minutes for her to finally come over and get our drink order. They do not have "happy hour", just a couple of cheap drink options. I got the good Margherita, comes in a shaker. It was very tasty - but drank the whole thing, and honestly did not feel the tequila. Also took a while to get our food. Had to ask for the bread. We got the spicy shrimp appetizer. It was a large portion and tasty. I got a sirloin with mac and cheese and caesar salad. Steak was cooked correctly, mac and cheese was very good. Didn't like the caesar dressing too much, Texas Roadhouse much better. First time here, it was OK, but at the price of eating out today, we will not come back. Much better, less expensive options out there.

Steak was done nice and rare as ordered. We shared a dish, and they split our salad for us.

Food is fine. Drinks could use revamping due to taste and concentration (low taste and flavor). They REALLY need to shut down for a couple days and deep clean the dining room. Pictures and Glass surfaces look like we're wiped by dishrag- Smeared and dusty. Speaking of dusty, take your allergies medicine. Just looking at the Props and chandeliers there's visible dust. May be best to use a leaf blower to shake dust loose. And some tlc to the chairs, they show major wear and tear. A little paint goes a long way. Tables definatly need refinishing, theres a chemical smudging on them that reminds me of soap scum. Mind you this is seen in low light, wonder if they turn up the lights when they do any of this.
