I’m addicted. Been there 3 times in less than a week. The owner has a stern manner, but it’s only because she is a goddess of food.

Delicious food

I’m never one to write reviews as I work in the industry and I 100% understand that things do happen. BUT, I was so excited to try this place. I love BBQ joints and this one is said to be one of the best in the valley. I live in Burbank so it’s not close to go to the OG location in Chatsworth but we did anyway because I was craving it. We got there around 5:30pm and there were only 3 tables sat. Service started out great and got our food and drink order in right away. Then as the restaurant started filling up, tables and tables ordered after us kept getting their food before us. I didn’t want to immediately say anything because I feel bad about it most times and the server seemed busy. But after an hour wait and no food, I finally flagged the server down and asked her if by chance our ticket got lost. She said she would check on it but then still kept on helping pickup orders and bringing people their checks. After 10 minutes she finally came back and said that our ticket did get lost. Not once did she or they check in with us to see how we were doing, offer one apology or even an order of hush puppies for the trouble (the first thing we ordered before our actual meal order). I rated the atmosphere high because I really loved the feel of the place when we walked in. And the stories of the original founding sisters, the difference between the different styles of cuisine each infused into the menu of this place was fascinating. It’s just a shame the first time I really looked forward to trying some of their Famous Cajun Fried Chicken, I couldn’t. We ended up just leaving and thanked them anyway on the way out. I don’t think my one review should deter people from going as it seemed everyone was enjoying themselves, unfortunately not meant for us on this day.

Sometimes you’re just craving fried shrimp and hush puppies (I’m from NC so…) so a friend suggested this place and omg was he spot on! I’ve never “hit the spot” quite like this. This place is exactly what your soul wants and needs, you can feel that it’s a family owned place, truly southern comfort. Don’t get it twisted, you’re not about to walk into a place that has valet service and linens, but the food speaks for itself. I’m so happy to have found this place!

Great authentic soul food New Orleans style. The hush puppies that are sold here are freshly made and are the ONLY ones that I will eat. I've tried several other places, but these are the only ones that I truly like. First time trying their BBQ Beef sandwich (BBQ beef and cole slaw only). It was good, but only got the sandwich. They are known for their fried chicken but usually sell out quickly.

OMG!!! Just go. Nothing I can say can describe how damn good the food is here. Ask for the jambalaya. I asked for extra spicy. Nothing is too spicy for me, but it took away from the flavor. My fault. It was still outrageously good. Really anything you order here is excellent, so it really matter what you order.
