From today they are serving amazing gelato! Amazing bakery store! Everything is made in the store from scratch. I loved the pastizzi with ricotta filling so friable and tasty. The store is cozy and the staff is super nice! Highly recommended.

I have frequented this bakery for a number of years for their simple cake designs. Upon inquiring about specific design options, I requested to see photographs of previous work. The owner said I have pictures on Instagram. She presented me with two pictures of a style that did not align with my preferences. I then shared my reference picture, to which she confirmed they could do. Me okay great. Subsequently, I provided a deposit of $25 for a cake intended for my sister's birthday celebration dinner. However, shortly after leaving the establishment. I reviewed their Instagram page and noted that their offerings did not include the customized cake design I desired. Preferring not to waste time on a potential disappointment, I promptly returned to the bakery to request a refund from the individual who had accepted my payment. To my surprise, a gentleman rudely interjected and said May I asked why? I provide my reasoning. Then he yelled NO started to deflect and yelling about he just had to pay 1,000 to the government. I said that as nothing to do with me. He yelled you know how that make me feel?! I feel THREATENED and continued to go down a rabbit hole. I said Sir I’m just asking for a deposit. Despite his aggressive demeanor, I stood back. I politely reiterated my request for a refund. The escalating tension and unprofessional conduct of the gentleman left me disheartened, as I had never encountered such hostility interactions with any the business. Feeling that the situation had escalated beyond a civil resolution, I made the decision to involve the authorities by contacting the police. As a longstanding customer, I was taken aback by the lack of emotional intelligence and professionalism displayed by the individuals involved in this unfortunate incident. This guy is a liability!!!

Travel by train, from Brooklyn. Once a week. For the cinnamon rolls. And other great pastries too. But the cinnamon rolls mostly. ****UPDATE******** So Leli has changed ownership recently, and obviously they changed everything else that made it what it was. The previous owner made you feel welcomed. I've personally watched that man pull pastries out of the oven. You knew everything was made with love. Now, clearly store bought frozen items is the trend. Used to travel from Brooklyn for the Cinnamon rolls. Never again. Karim, enjoy your much needed rest. You are, and will be missed.

UPDATE:SAME NAME NEW OWNERS AND IT SHOWS! Karim and his wife provided quality baked goods guaranteed to satisfy. The new stuff is Bland and lackluster. I won't be returning. Please don't be fooled by the name, it's not the same place Old review: Hands down the best Cinnamon rolls and cheese danishes I've ever had in my 35 years! I live in Brooklyn and I make a weekly trip to Astoria to come here. The service is super friendly and the prices are amazing. You won't regret stopping by

New ownership has turned my favorite bakery into one I will never return to. Bought several pies (ordered in advance near the holidays) and they were so bad we actually threw them out! I purposely waited a while to post to see if my anger at being charged a fortune for inedible pies (hard as a rock, not fresh at all) would wane. It didn’t. It’s such a shame because the old pies at Leli’s before the ownership change were some of the best I ever had.

The cakes and the cookies were delicious and staff is very welcoming and kind! I absolutely recommend this place.

Last night I purchased a chocolate cake for a friend, and i find out later that he had a chocolate allergy. I went back to the store to ask for a exchange or buy a new one, and the owner kindly offered to give me a vanilla cake for free even that was my mistake. I was truly impressed by their understanding and generosity. We ended up eating both delicious cakes. Thanks again!
