Live close to here and it’s been my goto. Service has been going significantly downhill. Not comfortable going to the bar and having a meal as a woman alone anymore. Was told by others that now that the son has taken over, it’s not a place to goto anymore.
Wow. Not. I made the mistake of ordering a togo item. The food was disgusting. I ordered a veal picatta, sauce was broken, vegetables were 4 small pieces in a smaller Togo section on the tray and the potatoes(my favorite) tasted like they had been sitting on a shelf the whole night. So I got 3 small pieces of veal in grease, with a major attitude from the manager. Truly gross. Then the manager wanted to argue with me because I said something about the bread and quality. I had to ask for bread instead of it being provided. Soggy stale bread is what I got. Then when I go to pay......the price was more than the menu price from the online menu from there website. This actually used to be a great French/Spanish bistro. Hopefully the manager is gone because he has zero idea how to treat the customer base.
The food is incredible. We went here on thanksgiving so it was extremely busy. They seemed to be understaffed, and our waiter was clearly extremely stressed out. It took a long time to get our food, and they didn't even greet us at the door. I know it is hard around the holidays, but I hope they get more support next time!
Enjoyed our Thanksgiving dinner at Le Chalet Basque Restaurant and the atmosphere and service and food we all incredible! It was intimate enough so you didn't miss that family feeling going out to dinner on Thanksgiving. We had eight in our party and we were very comfortable at the table. There was chatter and laughter and I really can't say enough about this beautiful neighborhood Basque Restaurant. I can't wait to go back for a lunch and sit on their patio. We had drinks before dinner in the bar and it was such a nice feeling just relaxing and chatting before our reservation was ready. If you are in the area it is a must!
