Best deli in Santa Rosa! The Italian Stallion is my go to sandwich with house-made Italian dressing. Staff has always been kind and the canolis are awesome too!
I just realized Lazzinis business was sold to new owners. My last sandwich a few months ago was so sloppy and dreadful. It was a hot sandwich, the bread was soggy, it was a mess to eat. Today I picked up sandwich to take to park. It wasn’t cut all the way through, it was very sloppy again compared to previous owners. When I say sloppy I mean it falls all over and out on my lap. do want to keep going back, however today I found some small skinny thin strips of plastic in this sandwich I pulled them out and did finish sandwich. It tasted good, but presentation is lacking. I’m sorry orginal owners aren’t still there, but retirement has to happen for businesses. My hope is new owners take notice of the history of this Deli being here for years, it is a hard act to follow. I will try the 3rd time and hope things are resolved.
Was not impressed store name is Italian but that’s it .
Lazzinis continues to be an excellent spot for lunch. The new owners are doing a good job and I’ve been satisfied every time I visit.
I ordered a half rack of their baby back ribs and what I got had a big grizzly knuckle on it with an additional section of rib definitely not baby back ribs they were lower quality less expensive fatter portion of the ribs that they were trying to pass off as baby backs. They told me they made their own rub, but there was no evidence that they used any on the ribs. They were completely flavorless, like they had been boiled in water. The chili had good flavor, but again the meat and the chili was a lot less than 80% lean (Super chewy and gristly). After pulling several pieces of meat that were too chewy to eat out of the chili I became nauseated and finally fed it to my dog.
Was only in and out, but seems like a pretty reliable place for an Italian deli sandwich. The Italian Stallion was pretty good.
My first visit was today-ordered a Tri Tip sandwich for almost $20 and got overcooked, flavorless meat, bread that tasted like it had been in a plastic bag for at least a week, and overall a very disappointing meal The people are nice but that's not good enough, particularly when the photos on their website show something completely different. There are so many places to eat in this area I see no reason to ever go back.
Things took a turn for the worst with the management change. Quality of the deli has gone down hill in the worst way. Won't be coming back for any food.
