L’Avenue at Saks

We had the escargot and cocktails at the bar, excellent, highly recommend, go for great service and decor, wonderful experience

Our second time here. The first experience was 5 stars. This time the food drop a liitle bit. Great cocktails.

I came across L’Avenue while watching a vlogmas by @newyorkplease. I thought this was a win-win — we could shop at Saks and then dine at L’Avenue. (I had to message her on Instagram to thank her! And she graciously responded) We really were not expecting much and thought the limited menu was underwhelming — but lo and behold!!! It was one of the most delicious meals we had!!! The Thai Shrimp, Peanut and Coconut, the dumplings, the filet mignon and buttery mashed potato — FANTASTIC! And yes — the s’mores dessert stole the show! It was just so good that even as we are back home in the West Coast, we still think about it. I thought it was going to be on the very sweet side but it was just right and had us finishing the whole thing (wished we each had our own s’mores but this definitely will be a note to self for the next visit to NYC.) It overlooks the Rockefeller Center so that was an extra layer of nice. Ricky was awesome — GREAT customer service — sincere, engaging and really made us feel welcome. It was a delight to see his family dine as well next to our table! You are awesome, Ricky! Divinely delighful! We surely will be back!

Outstanding service. Sexy and serene atmosphere. Fantastic food. What more can you ask for in a place? Well, I guess you could also ask for high end shopping if that appeals to you as this place with its own entrance and elevator to 9 (not easy to navigate once onside which is part of the charm) is part of Sak’s Fifth Avenue and you can head right in after lunch or an early dinner. I love this place and highly recommend it. There aren’t many places in NY where the tables are far enough apart and music isn’t blaring. Their staff in also incredibly trained and efficient. Go. You won’t be disappointed. Did I also mention how great the drinks are?
