We had been hearing about this place for a while, and finally got to experience it. The food was absolutely wonderful. Full of rich flavor and spice. We had both the seafood soup and shrimp platter. Their in house sauce was the perfect amount of spice with an incredible flavor. The fish ceviche was fresh and perfect (tilapia). Overall we were very impressed with the low key atmosphere and great food. Absolutely we recommend this place!
This place is a hidden gem, in my opinion. I’m a big fan of ceviche, and this place knows how to do it right. But be warned, if you get the Aguachilies Verde, it’s seriously spicy, which is the way I like it, but it really will burn you down. Very friendly staff and excellent consistent service. I will be back.
The food was wonderful and loved seeing many locals there. Hats off to the chef.
Expect AUTHENTIC Mexican seafood. If you are looking for "Mexican" that has been tailored for the American pallet, this may not be for you. Although, there are steak & chicken fajitas on the menu. The food was excellent, and worth the price. I had pan fried red snapper, topped with shrimp & octopus. The serving was very large. My husband had my leftovers for his dinner later that night. My husband is Oaxacan. After eating my leftovers, he is insisting that we eat at Las Islas today. The service was excellent. Our waitress was very helpful, kind, and patient. My friend and I (2 gringas), had lots of questions. The atmosphere is very "small cafe". Adult beverages are available. Other than my friend & I, the clientele appeared to be all Latino. When I go to a restaurant for any type ethnic food, seeing customers of that ethnicity enjoying the food is always a sign that the food is authentic and great! I believe Las Islas will become a new favorite spot for my husband and me!
