1. The other comments about a rude proprietor are spot on. Wish I had read them before. The dude is a total jerk. He should hide in the back and not talk to customers. 2. The prices are crazy high for what you get. 3. The BBQ is average. 4. The location is great!In summary, 1 out of 4 is terrible!

10/10 don't recommend. The owner was rude and not truthful about pricing. Half of the menu board is not working and the prices do not match posted website prices. Additionally his menu states a large soda is 2.50. He is out of cups and said he had cans instead. To my surprise after swiping my card, I am charged $3 each for a canned soda and more than advertised for each plate of food ordered. Sometimes you don't want to cause a scene. I'd much rather let people know about a poor experience and go my own way. Save yourself the time and go somewhere else.

( Originally left a 1-star review with no explanation. Revising. ) I've only ever been to this place once. It was on an evening when there was live music in the park next to where they are located. They had one person taking orders from one window and delivering food to another window, one person preparing the food, and a third person in back who didn't appear to be doing anything. So, to be fair, it looked like they stayed open late for the music, but were hopelessly understaffed. Ordered a kale salad for my wife, which came with sweet potato fries, and for myself a Caesar salad with a side of french fries. Waited about 1/2 hour before getting anything. Many patrons were quite upset. Finally got my wife's salad. She asked if there was anything else. I mentioned the Caesar salad, which the order-taker person then went in back and prepared. When she gave it to me I reminded her about the fries, and she gave me some that we sitting around stone cold in a foam container. When I unwrapped the food, I found that my salad was not a Caesar salad, it was something else with blue cheese and bacon, which I didn't want. We returned it and got a refund, which accounts for raising the review from 1 to 2 stars.

2/24/17 the weather is amazing, walked the harbor side and did not find a restaurant that was reasonably price by the water. So with 6 kids n 3 adults, for $100 including tip, we had the best BBQ!! Enjoyed it! will eat here again... the smoke and fry wings with habanero sauce!! Delicious...

'Meh' sums it up. Larry seems to put in a lot of love and care into the BBQ. I could tell because I had to earn my choice of sauce by describing and proving to Larry that I know what the sauce tastes like. Yeah, Larry isn't the typical 'friendly' owner, but I could relate to his personality so it doesn't bother me as much. The BBQ itself is really just mediocre. Everything's on the plainer side, which is a fine style of BBQ, but...no smoke rings or smoky taste... I tried most of the popular items - burnt ends, ribs, brisket, pulled pork, and fires. Although everything's probably made fresh, they just somehow taste microwaved...It's a three star BBQ joint in Boston because Boston doesn't have great competitors to begin with.
