Thoroughly enjoyed my meal here! Everything came out incredibly fast and not a bit of seasoning and spices were spared.

The owner was not friendly at all. At first, we were told that we had to pay extra 7$ if we share 1 dish for 2. Even though we ordered two different dishes (one main and one starter) we would still be charged the extra. So we decided to order vegie combo with one additional dish. The food was unflavoured and undercooked. The Injera(flat bread) was nothing like what I know. We wanted to inform the owner that the food needs improvement but she reacted not in a nice way. The glasses which we used were not clean and the water jug looks unclean. The price was not cheap either. We left morethan half of the food served. What a pity!!!

I have visited this family-run restaurant several times and it is my go to spot. I come to this restaurant over others because of its no-frills authenticity; the tsom (vegan) dishes are perfectly seasoned and the variety of tibs (beef or lamb, drier or saucier) are well made and flavorful. You can't go wrong with the doro wot or kitfo either. Also, one of the few spots I know of where you can ask and get is 100% teff enjera (but you got to ask). They also have my fav Habesha beer. If you want to know what Ethiopian food tastes like in Ethiopia, this is the spot to find out. Vegetarian options: Ethiopian food provides the most extensive vegetarian (and vegan) options. Anything that is fasting ("tsom") will be vegan. The misir wot is fiery like it should be, with the lentils cooked right without being mushy. The shiro(s) have a perfect balance of spice and flavors. There are other veggie dishes such as stewed greens, or French beans, or a carrot/potato/cabbage medley (gomen, fosilia, or atkilit) that were great in combination with other vegetarian dishes. My recommendation: get a combo platter.

very disappointed by a recent lunch here, especially since its predecessor, Zoma, was so excellent. we could've taken a clue from the fact that there were no other diners - it was the middle of the afternoon on a sunny day, but the restaurant was silent except for the audible dialogue from the server's mobile phone playing Ethiopian TV shows. accordingly, the service was very poor - both my friend and I had to ask *repeatedly* for more water! if we'd been asked how the food was, I would've told her that the potatoes in the cabbage selection were raw and inedible. the fish curry was fine. will not return, especially with Awash Awaze and Benyam providing excellent Ethiopian cuisine nearby.
