La Vela Brick Oven Pizza & Pasta

Absolutely love it! Quiet and peaceful place to enjoy good wine and Italian food. Service was on point! I definitely recommend. We have ordered the vela calamari, pizza, spaghetti, gnocchi, and burrata and all delish!

La Vela staff are very friendly and helpful! Food was excellent. Appetizers and Entrees were very good, Pizza authentic are Italien style and also real good, Salat was fresh , what is a good sign for a good kitchen! Atmosphere could be a little more cozy but like I said Staff and food are great!

So disappointed. Replacing Patrizia’s is no small feat but I’m afraid La Vela has not brought their A game. Ordered chicken parm for pick up. Walked over to an empty restaurant and when I got home I discovered MICROWAVED chicken with melted cheese. You mean to tell me that there was no one working had enough pride to make something fresh? There was no tomato sauce and the portion was something my child could eat. Hey La Vela - the local pizzerias are outshining you and any possibility you have of making it in Woodlawn. I suggest you order from all of them within a 2 mile radius and try their Italian dishes. Also - free bread bites were thrown into my takeout order - they were undercooked. You almost had a redeeming gesture but come on. It is cut up before its package. Anyone who preps and packages will see immediately that the bread is raw.

The staff are all lovely. Food is amazing. I had the Fettuccine Carbonara- absolutely delicious.
