La Brasserie

Perfect place away from the business and authentic french food. Always got the delicious bouillabaisse and the deconstructed Foret Noire was so good

We decided to try this place, finally, because of restaurant week. First the good: the service was excellent and they didn't skimp on servings. Also, the soup of the day - gazpacho with watermelon radish - was incredible. The bad: we ordered four steak frites, three rare-plus (which they said they could do) and one medium-rare. Only one of the steaks was cooked correctly. Two of the rare-plus steaks were medium, and the medium-rare steak was more like rare-plus. To be generous, maybe they switched up the plates, but even if so, two of the steaks would have been overcooked. For me, the bare requirement of a brasserie or bistro is to cook a steak correctly. Sadly, we won't be returning. Update: We did return at the insistence of friends who wanted to go. I avoided the steak frites, but we were there on the night they offer cassoulet - Thursdays I think? - and IT was fantastic.

The best french onion soup I have ever had.

I am so bummed to report this place is closed. Tried to go today And it’s now a camp to an unhoused person

Staff and the manager are really disorganized. I blame the manger for this. Food is ok and nothing special. Really over priced for the quality of food and service.

Never again.
