Been visiting and key word: patronizing for two decades since I moved to Memphis. Have purchased catered meals for staff events etc. Everything was always superb until recently. The quality of the food and more importantly, the service, has decreased dramatically. My family and friends have spent thousands of dollars at this establishment through the years and each time I come I’m convinced it should be the last. Others with whom I’ve spoken say the same. And I have spoken to many. The tarts have changed the portions have shrunk and the prices inflated.
Parking: Good visit over all.
I don't know why overall review is low! Overall it was great. Chicken salad croissant sandwich was super yummy. ALLERGIES: Please know almonds are in it; I didn't see it on the menu, but it might be there. My fault. Potato chips are the best REAL chips I've had. Not too hard nor overly salted. We will be back to try others.
I had not been here in like 14-15 years and I finally had the time to stop by today. I was sad to see no Lemon Bars (it's what I got those years ago), but I grabbed a cheese danish and a strawberry cheese danish. I was happy to see the expanded store front and the views into the production kitchen. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the staff was very friendly. I didn't eat my Danish until I got home, and oh my God it is the best danish I've ever had. I highly recommend their danishes to anyone that is a danish lover. It honestly reminded me of a danish donut and the cream cheese to bread ratio was PERFECT! Kid-friendliness: I saw plenty of options for kids and my son was with me, playing his game, and I was able to leave him while I ran to the restroom. (He is a pre-teen) Wheelchair accessibility: There is a double door with wheelchair access to the bakery.
La Baguette is one of the best French bakeries in the country. Their Raspberry Napoleon is my favorite- affordable, and the taste is unmatched. Value and tremendous quality- where can you get a better French baguette or French pastry?
The Chicken Caesar Wrap is a great sandwich! They have a special of the day and a sandwich menu that offers selections that are fantastic too. The bakery side of this establishment has some delicious pastries, or different kinds of bread for your meal choices at home. I wish I could give them a 10+ rating. I love this place!
Love to stop when I catch them open.
Update: knocking off stars because prices have increased exponentially, service (at counter and over the phone) has declined, and the food quality is still so hit or miss. It seems the new owners are spending all the money on updating the space and branding when they should be focusing on the product and service. With new competition right across the street, I’m hoping they get their act together. Longtime Memphis bakery offering cakes, breads, pastries, and a lunch counter. Almond croissant and danishes are favorites. Check out the day-old rack for deals.
