Great experience here. Amazing service, good food and great cocktails.
Pros: polite and accommodating staff, especially the gentlemen at the entrance; spritz were original. Cons: pizzas were gummy, undercooked, garnished with modest ingredients: ham, sausage… no prosciutto anywhere. The fried calamari were over-breaded and sliced too thin: felt like anion rings. The tagliatelle pasta was too creamy and buttery. An Olive Garden’s style, but overpriced ($25) reinterpretation of Roman Carbonara. Overall: underwhelming and overpriced (-$55/person).
I could honestly go on about this place forever. The pizza is incredible. The venison is the best. The servers are all friendly and attentive. This is genuinely my favorite restaurant in Birmingham. I am bias though because I'm Italian, but it truly is an incredible place. Such a good bang for the buck.
Unreal ragu and liquor list. Stop in
Excellent service & food. My favorite is the bruta mozzarella with golden beets.
This is quite literally the best Italian I've had in the Birmingham area. In fact, it is probably the best food, in general, that I've had in Birmingham thus far. It seems like the quality of food has generally gone down since 2020, but not here. That said, for the quality of food I think the prices were actually quite reasonable. I got a steak and it was probably the best steak I've gotten in Birmingham. It was only $30. Overall, the service was good, the atmosphere was nice, and the drinks were great! Oh I almost forgot! The tiramisu was fantastic! I love me some tiramisu, and this was the best I've had as long as I can remember. Parking: Parking is awful! We paid for parking and there was some technicality where we parked and our cars were towed. This is certainly will deter us from coming downtown.
Tried eating here last night - I called 30 minutes prior to arriving asking what time the kitchen closed - I was told 9:00pm. We arrived at 8:30pm and the redneck hillbilly bouncer told us “Marco has closed the restaurant early” … 8:30 on a Saturday night? Big letdown after looking forward to going all day long.
