Kurimu wicker park

I’ve drove past the place a couple times and it looked very interesting so this day which was Saturday, January 13 I decided to get out and check it out. I walked in and I pretty much just asked hello this was interesting just wanted to know what you all had and what you sold, the young boy on duty turned around and said we close in 10 minutes so we just have ice I said OK well that’s technically not what I was asking I’m asking what kind of establishment is this and what do you sell and he turned around to say oh swirls and drinks and then ice cream like I said we’re about to close so we only have ice cream I said that really still isn’t giving me an explanation but OK and I walked out. I feel he was extremely rude and customer service was just BAD! Like a concept and business like that should have a staff ready to indulge you I the experience and I was extremely pissed

Like all other locations all good good

The second location has a special frozen treat called the Uzumaki, swirled ice cream with cereal to give that nice texture and flavor. The soft serve is still fantastic and changes from month to month. Even the locations have different flavors. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The place is clean and welcoming. A great new edition to wicker park area.

Overall Thoughts: One of the few / only Asian-themed ice cream shops outside Chinatown. It’s quite pricey (~$8 for 2 scoops), but they have a nice selection of flavors, most of which are very solid. The space is nice and a chill place to hang out with friends (no bathroom though). Overall, I’d come back for a fix of durian ice cream or to try their other soft serve options. I’ve tried their Durian, Mango Sticky Rice, Red Bean, Oreo, Strawberry Cheesecake, and Banana flavors. Of those, my favorites are the Durian and Strawberry Cheesecake. — Price (relative to peers): 4/5 Food: 4.3/5 Ambience: 4.8/5 Service: 4.8/5 Overall Value: 4.3/5

I have the BEST time exploring hidden spots while walking around in Chicago. This was such a little surprise that I COULD NOT RESIST They had all my favorite flavors : black sesame durian Thai green tea matcha lychee pearl mango purple yam sweet corn After moving from Hong Kong to Chicago and having traveled to Japan & Thailand maybe 10+ times (they were 5 hours away from HK), I always crave unique Asian flavors everywhere I go in Chicago This was SUCH a great spot ! The flavors were super rich & creamy, not too sweet Matcha + boba was awesome Pineapple swirl soft serve was Soo tart and tasty I love how you can add boba and mochi + try their Kurimu Silver swirl or messy boba options with cone or cup. Very pricey. Around $5-6 for soft serve or one scoop. I ordered through the kiosk and it added tip without asking when I swiped my card. I wasn’t planning on eating inside, but the chairs were already cleared at 9:40p when the store was closing at 10p. The cashier was not friendly at all, maybe because I visited 20 min before closing. Never going back.

Always love the sesame flavor best. They recently added durian flavor. Having ice cream is always great in winter time. They also have indoor seating area.
