Im a regular at kung fu. Not only is it the best deal in all of chi, it feels like such a unoque experience. My only small small small complaint, and this is subjective to personal taste is that maybe sometimes the slices are SLIGHTLY too well done. To be fair ive never ordered them "not as well done" so thats on me. Overall i feel lucky to have this spot righr by my house. The owner is a super cool dude and Id recommend the experience to anybody.
This guy if you can catch him will blow your mind. Best slice in the area. GL
The pepperoni deep dish hit right on a Friday night, I do say
Place close early on a Saturday
Decent NY style slices for a truly unbeatable price, but the guy working there was so rude. He threw a fit and yelled at me because I forgot to ask for my water bottle at the start of my order. I understand it’s less convenient, but it couldn’t hurt to just ask at the start if I’m getting a drink, not to mention the yelling at customers part.. Hoping we just caught him on a bad day.
I feel truly blessed to have this place in my neighborhood. Flanked by fast food and overpriced mediocre restaurants ($22 burrito… really La Pasadita!?) this spot earned a huge place in my heart with their $5 deal. I was expecting Little Caesar’s-esque quality but got some shockingly delicious slices. Then I read on his menu that he’s constantly experimenting with ingredients to create the best possible pizza and specifically buys the throwback Pepsi cans because he likes them. It’s those kinds of things that I really appreciate as a consumer and food lover. I think it’s safe to say I’ll be coming back often.
5 stars for everything cause it is $5. It is not only the best deal in town, but the pizza actually rocks. Just had two slices today, prob 6th time, best slices yet. And prob best slices I have had anywhere in years. Just go and be patient and nice. It is just one guy doing his pizza magic.
I’m a native NYer and it took me living here 2 years to find this place while I was walking home from work one night. I was thrilled bc this is the closest to home I’ve gotten — no frills, window service, late night pizza counter. Love it love it.
