Konjo Ethiopian Food

The best and only Ethiopian on the west side. They just won Westword’s 2024 Best Ethiopian in the metro (again) and they rule. I usually get the Veggie Delight and that really hits the spot. The lamb tibs are great when I’m I feeling meaty. Edgewater Public Market is a great place to hang too.

Konjo has amazing, healthy Ethiopian food that is served up very quickly. I crave it weekly and it's consistently delicious. Their vegetarian /vegan options are the best, and the misir wot is perfectly spiced. Portions are large & we always order extra for leftovers. They give good amounts of injera as well. So glad they are in Edgewater Public Market.

Place is spectacular. Might be my favorite food I’ve gotten in a food hall, only one to ever get me to come just for take out. First visit: beef tibs, and every available side. Second visit: weekend special meat burrito, and sambusa’s for group sampling Sorry, no photos from first visit.

Well, anyone who follows my reviews knows that I typically don’t give negative feedback for restaurants. You’re small businesses trying to make it happen and I respect anyone working for success, even if it doesn’t match my pallet. I ordered the vegan delight and was excited ti sample some Ethiopian cuisine. I was disappointed with all of the items on the plate, and I believe for the first time in my life, I felt compelled to ask for a refund. When I did, one gentleman behind the countered reluctantly but politely offered to refund my meal, but offered no apology. Whatever, that was at least professional. But then the other gentleman decided it would be best if he told me “You know how you said you usually don’t do this? That implies that you probably typically do.” Because they had no traffic at their booth, and for all the reasons above, I decided to just let them keep the $28 I paid for my plate after tax and tip. When I then let that insightful gentleman know that he had delivered terrible customer service, he replied with “not at all”. ?????????????!!!!!!!!!!! I’ve never felt more satisfied dropping my food into a trash can. So gross I couldn’t even order from one of the other establishments in the Edgewater Market. I feel nauseous, figuratively and physically. Fail.
