1st time in. Our server was great, knowledgeable and helpful. Food was ok. My 1st choice was not available, so I’m opted for the chicken and shrimp Kona stir fry. It was nothing to write home about, but no will give Kona another try for the sushi next time. A bit overpriced for the taste and quality of the food....

#TeamHSV ventured out to Kona Grill Tuesday night to see what was new in their world. We were greeted and treated like family all evening. The care they take in assuring good quality, fresh, house-made food is evident from appetizers all the way through to dessert. There were eight of us so we had a lot of food and I didn’t have room to try it all but I was pleased with everything I did have. The Tomato Basil Bisque was quite lovely. Creamy, not too acidic, full of flavor and topped off with shaved Parmesan and croutons. This is familiar as an old school comfort food but elevated far beyond that. Next up were the Ribeye Meatballs. Ground ribeye, shallots, shiitake mushrooms, macadamia nuts, chili glaze, peppercorn sauce, micro greens...what doesn’t sound great about that? All that goodness then set atop a mound of fluffy potatoes? I’m in! KG Sliders...mini burgers topped with their special KG sauce, house-made pickles, crispy onions, cheddar cheese, and lettuce and served on Hawaiian rolls. 🧡 Avocado Egg Rolls...what more needs said? Creamy avocado tucked in a crispy egg roll wrapper and deep fried to perfection and served with a honey cilantro dipping sauce. A delicious balance of flavors and textures. Potstickers...chicken and vegetable dumplings, seared and served with an Asian slaw and soy sauce. Good stuff! We had five sushi rolls (Picasso, Bama Roll, Shrimp & Lobster, Yamada, Crunchy Shrimp) and a salmon/tuna poké bowl. They were all really good and I would order any of them again. However...my very favorite was the Yamada. It’s a roll of sea bass that has been marinated in miso for 36 hours, crab salad, avocado, and cucumber wrapped in soy paper then topped with a sweet and spicy sauce. Delish! The entrees were Sweet Chili-glazed Salmon, Miso Saké Sea Bass, Pad Thai, Cuban Sandwich, BBQ Chicken Flatbread, and the French Dip sandwich. What really stood out to me was the Miso Saké Sea Bass. Marinated in miso for 36 hours. Moist and tender and so flavorful. It was served with baby bok choy and pork & shrimp fried rice. I really enjoyed the fried rice too. I would definitely order the Sea Bass again. Who had room for desserts? We didn’t!!! But we ate it anyway because it was all so good. The standout star was definitely the carrot cake. I’m not even a big fan of carrot cake but this was great! Don’t ask questions. Just get it. Fun evening with friends, old and new, gracious hosts, and in a nice and clean, welcoming atmosphere. They have a good heated patio for outdoor dining if you wish. Overall, good solid dishes and experience!

10/16/2020 Don’t go! Terrible service at the Bar! Suggest drinks. I choose margarita (3). All I taste is strawberry 🍓 syrup. He knew, gave excuses and kept suggesting Watermelon margarita. No sir! Then gives me a glass of water and it’s dirty old food particles floating (nasty)!

4/5 for one complaint, and for our family it’s a big one: allergies. My husband has a tree nut allergy. I put it in the details when I booked the reservation and also mentioned it to the waitress, so she could help us as we ordered. Normally, at such a nice place, we are offered an allergy menu— not here. We went about ordering things and as she brought them out, each time we had to ask, “does this have tree nuts?” She never knew the answer and always had to go find out, but at some point, she should have got the picture and asked before she brought out the dishes or asked as she was putting the order in that we made so we didn’t have to sit with it in front of us while she went to find out— I made sure to tell her so she would already know to find out. At one point she said yes and scared us— if there were tree nuts, it NEVER should have been brought to the table as an appetizer. She was not concerned at all about the allergy until we had to ask over and over with each appetizer and item.Other than that, if you don’t have allergies the food is fantastic and the management is great. The manager noticed one of our steaks was very tiny and sent another one out without us requesting it even.

5 out of 5!!! Shout out to Travis, our waiter for killing it. Im not a person how normally likes new foods but ordered the sweet chili salmon, and asked if I could do chicken instead. Travis added a few thinks that he thought went well to compliment the meal and said the kitchen staff was a buzz about the new item. The food was FANTASTIC!!!!! Our table order the ribeye 🤩, sir fry and 3 appetizers. You can tell this place is a true scratch kitchen and the employees and cooks are passionate about flavor! First time food has tasted that good with out tons of salt and sugar to make it taste like it belongs here. And even was FRESH TO BOOT!!! Thank you Kona Grill we will be back very soon!!!!

15 minutes after sitting down at the overly large extended wing on the side of the bar and I was not even able to place a food or drink order. I left. I don't recommend this place to anyone.

4 stars because of my specific meal (pacific snapper), but the other two people I was with enjoyed their meals. The mai tai was also very tasty. Wasn’t too crowded on the weekday (Monday)

1st time in, taking our youngest son and his wife there for his 29th birthday. Purchased restaurant cards at Costco to try out your restaurant. Good diverse menu selection. Waitstaff was friendly and pleasant , however apparently confusion reined supreme between our food order taker and our drink order taker. We ordered drinks from the bar and apparently each order taker thought the other was going to deliver our drinks to the table, and neither did. When we questioned them they finally retrieved our drinks. I ordered Mojito, wife ordered Margarita and son ordered Guineas beer. Beer was improperly poured by server so my son ended up with about 25% actual beer and 75% beer foam head in his beer glass. Mixed drinks were TERRIBLE! Tasted like watered dkwn fruit drinks. No alcohol at all in either drink. Had to send both back. Drinks re-made and returned tasting somewhat better but still VERY weak. Food arrived in a timely manner and was okay. Would not recommend Jambalaya....tasted burnt. Server did offer us free desserts for us to take home due to poor experience. We don't plan to return.
