Kobé Japanese Steakhouse - Clearwater

Standard hibachi setup and place was packed. Nice interior and Clean. Initial service for drinks / salad super slow. Chef did great once he arrived. Everything ordered was done correctly. All servers and staff super friendly. Standard steak was tough, filet was tender. Neither had any seasoning. Veggies were slightly undercooked but still OK (better than overcooked and mushy). Portions were very large especially rice/noodles. We also had sushi and it was OK too. Shrimp tempura in roll overcooked a little. Maguro and tamago were good. Table next to us were so loud doing “sake bombs” and other drinks, with the server beating a drum. Years in Japan and I’ve never seen that in any restaurant, but people loved it and just got louder. Steak cuts (quality) need improved and seasoned, but other than that normal hibachi with a party vibe (it was Saturday night so there’s that to consider.)

Drinks and food are always delicious

The food was delicious, the service from Natasha (our waitress) and Danny (our cook) was excellent and friendly, and the atmosphere is inviting.

When placing my takeout order the website had failed and didn’t give me a confirmation all thought taking the money out of my account. I called the number attached to this restaurant and the front desk person had picked up, I asked about my order status wondering if it went through. She stated she will get someone to check on this. I waited on hold for 15 minutes and no one came back to the phone, I called again regarding the same issue and the person at the front, without saying a word hung up on me. So I call back for the 3rd time requesting a manager, yet once again got hung up on. I went into the restaurant and spoke with a manager on this, and they assured me the order was in the system. Whilst explaining what had happened they seemed to not take it seriously as the front desk person was extremely rude. I go to Kobe’s all the time and love it but this time was not okay.

Hostess was extremely rude when we called about a takeout order and asked about the status of it. We called three times and were hung up on all of these times
