Robert was greeeaattt!! His vibe was unmatched, he explained the menu very well and was honesty with his suggestions. He made our visit phenomenal. Anthony, the manager was also great, very friendly & he also made sure we was satisfied with everything. Definitely worth the visit. Good staff! Good food! The ambiance was nice, good music selection decor! We made reservations so it was pretty quick to be seated. Will come back when I’m in the area.

I’ve been to this location 5 or 6 times (personal choice, birthday dinners, friends and family visiting, etc) and each time the service has been super slow. Sometimes you sit for 15 minutes not knowing who your waitress is. Other times you wait 45 minutes or so for your drinks and/or food. You’ll get seated pretty quickly but then you’ll wait a long time to even get water. I see all of these miraculous reviews regarding the service so maybe I just get unlucky each time I come. I’ve had about 2 or 3 instances where the chicken was undercooked so I’ve just stopped ordering chicken. The food is very flavorful overall. The atmosphere is vibrant. However, I might give this place a rest for a while. I’m back with an updated review 3/10/24: The service is still SLOW! You still sit there 15-20 minutes waiting for your waitress. When they finally show up, they take 20 minutes to come back with water. You better place your complete order because you will be waiting about an hour and a half for all of your food. Maybe they are slow because a 20% gratuity is already included?? The excuse is always that the kitchen is backed up. How?? You know it’s Saturday and Sunday brunch hours!! Why aren’t you ever prepared for the rush?? Maybe stop being greedy and seating too many people!! I’m done with this place for good. How is your logo a chicken and the cooks can’t cook chicken?????? I ordered fried chicken a few time before and it was undercooked. Today, my boyfriend ordered the chicken fried chicken and the chicken breast was undercooked. Of course we could not get a refund because he had eaten majority of the chicken before getting to the raw part. Picture attached. Please do better!!

From walking in being greeted so pleasantly by the head of Security Demetrius, to the lead hostess Xaris who made sure we were sat very quickly made sure all 8 of us were sat together, that we very cool. Our Waitress Lori was great she asked for our patience at the very beginning it was a very busy Sunday. The music the ambience and the vibes were definitely there! Being a black owned restaurant is definitely a perk for me. I can’t wait to visit the other locations. I hear a lot fuss about it being “expensive” it’s no more expensive than any other restaurant this is downtown Chicago things cost food cost so stop! As far as the food, a pinch salty but good! We like our food seasoned period!!! I had the crab cakes, lamb chops, shrimp & grits, catfish, chicken & waffles, short ribs, devil eggs ,and the blackberry margarita. Lori was amazing!! Make sure you check this place it’s!

I just recently visited with my cousin we were quickly sat and served by Robert, Robert was not only friendly but also patient and very knowledgeable of the restaurant. Our food and drinks were amazing. We were also graced by another employee Anthony who was not our server but yet very polite and made sure we enjoyed our experience. Great food and employees 10/10

Food was decent. However they charge $9 for an unsweet tea which is the most ridiculous charge I’ve ever seen so far
