We have been 2 times in the past and have been happy, but this time the service was really lacking. We spent $64 on 1 pizza, 1 cauli wings, 2 drinks and ended up having to go ask for plates, forks, and the box since no one was attentive. Food was mid. The experience sucked because of that, honestly. We did tell one of the workers but it was just awkward. Won’t be returning here again, sadly.
God awful service. There was absolutely no one else in the restaurant, employees included, while we waited to get a box and the check. Some guy was playing drums next door while there was different music playing in the restaurant. Disgusting spinach artichoke dip. Pizza burger and fries were fairly decent.
the best places of all the places that are there
We are from Kansas City, and the one thing we don't have great options for is vegan pizza, and we for sure can't do deep dish pizza. Kitchen 17 nails both! The deep dish pizza, fries, drinks, and even the desserts were to die for. Our biggest "issue" if any would be that the restaurant was packed and their only had one server and one person preparing the food. Needless to say, service was slow, but still very friendly. Chicago is known for its deep dish pizza and Kitchen 17 nails, the vegan, vegetarian, and even dairy free restrictions. This is a must have! Vegetarian options: Nailed it. Dietary restrictions: Nailed it. Parking: Parking is very limited as it's in a residential area. Kid-friendliness: Absolutely. Wheelchair accessibility: Limited but would work.
My significant other and I have both tried a variety of options from Kitchen 17 recently and everything was delicious! Kitchen 17 has quickly become our new favorite vegan restaurant. Thus far, we have tried two different pizzas, two different sandwiches, chili cheeze fries, fried seitan chick'n, cauliflower wings, a cheezecake slice, and a salad. Not a single option has disappointed yet and their current location is considerably more atmospheric than their old location with free to play pinball machines, board games, creative decor, and live music (entry is $10 as of the writing of this review.)
I Went to see a band. Though no one was there, service was slow! Because it was so slow, I ordered 2 drinks. It tasted like soda!… Terrible drinks! I went to the bar a second time and waited while the bartenders would look at me and service everyone else that came after me. I looked at my friends, as if I was being pranked? But I was just being ignored. After another drink that tasted like soda?!?… I was done! I went to order a beer to go watch the show, but was told I couldn’t be served any more drinks?!? I was told by the bartender “I was served too much”?!?!… If only…I wasn’t tipsy, drunk, or buzzed, I was barely served alcohol!!! It was as the most absurd experience I’ve ever had anywhere!!!
Kyle was an amazing bartender took care of us and made sure we were taken care of every time we came back to the room he made sure that we were taking care of. Ask us if you wanted to any more drinks and sold us some amazing cookies. 5/5 kyle is awesome.
Visiting Chicago for the first time, I had to find all the vegan options. I ordered a traditional deep dish pizza and the Oreo chocolate cake to go as we were in a rush to also go to a non-vegan pizza place for my husband. Very dark and creepy inside for me but the service was great and I really enjoyed the food! I’ve never had a Chicago deep dish before going vegan so I don’t have much to compare it to. The crust was thick and crunchy and the vegan sausage had a nice spiciness to it. I would have ordered all the desserts if I could! There were Endless options! Dietary restrictions: All vegan options!
