Kitava - at Buck Wild

So, first of all I was totally stoked to be able to dine (and drink) someplace and not worry about my arch nemesis, gluten. Our server was super kind and attentive. I had the loaded fries and a beer flight. I really enjoyed it and I'm thinking about going back on Friday. I will give a proper review then.

I was in the area on a business trip. I found this place randomly, looking for a spot to meet a friend, here on Google maps. I don't know why, but I was super surprised and excited to find such an awesome 100% gluten free brewery and restaurant in Oakland. The beers were delicious and varied, and the food was fantastic. I had fish and chips, which is very rare for a celiac. Staff was friendly and amazing. I will definitely try to visit this place on future trips.

Great place, you order via qr code. Overall a good stop

I got their fish and chips on one occasion and it was delicious. I decided to get it again and it had no flavor whatsoever. On the third try which is now again has no flavor. It just tastes like batter. I’m disappointed. I don’t know who is doing the cooking these last few times but this is not good at.

Fish tacos were well flavored and filling. I bet their fish and chips would also be good. Plantain bowl was super filling.

I have been ordering from Kitava on caviar for some time. The past few months there’s been major problems with my orders. The chicken is not cooked. Food is cold. Half of the bowl is filled instead of the entire bowl. They frequently forget the sauces. If I’m paying so much for their food ($25 per meal) it needs to be excellent quality and consistent. Please do something to correct this.
