Our children had arranged dinner at Kinship to celebrate our anniversary while staying in Washington DC. We were greeted and congratulated when we arrived and from that moment on everything was absolutely perfect. The wines, appetizers (squid, mushrooms and asparagus salad), main courses (roast chicken, veal and scallops) and desserts (rhubarb pie and opera cake) were all outstanding as was our service. If you are looking for the complete dining experience, highly recommend Kinship.

One word is enough for me to describe this restaurant -pretentious. The food was average, the service aloof and scattered. Will not be back. Do not recommend.

We were visiting from out of town and this restaurant came up on our Michelin Star search so we decided to give a try as it was very close to our hotel. I was a bit hesitant because reviews were somewhat mixed but… I’m leaving an honest review to say this place did not disappoint! The food was so good we cleaned our plates. And the service was excellent from the time we walked in. One thing that was recommended on a comment I read was to review the menu beforehand and I agree. The menu reads horizontally… the first row of items are appetizers, the middle rows are entrees and the last row are desserts. Or you can do family style at bottom of menu as your entree, which is what we decided. But we didn’t understand that was how the menu is arranged until the waiter explained it to us. All in all it was excellent food and a great experience!

We love this place. We accidentally came in when we were looking for another restaurant and they politely directed us to where we needed to go. It was so nice that we actually came back for drinks after we left the restaurant that we were actually intending to go to. The vibes it gives off is very private and exclusive with a chic Great Gatsby era kind of atmosphere. We ordered a small cappuccino and it came with a cool toffee plate and a miniature Hammer to break it. Lots of fun! There aren't a lot of tables, so I'd recommend you make a reservation. We stayed at the bar and the bartenders were fantastic. Parking is not the best, so I'd recommend Uber or drop off your date and find parking afterwards.

Never told us the water cost $9, but they gave other table normal water. The squid tasted normal not impressive. The shrimp risotto super salty but they waive the bill. The cake super dry and sweet, still cost me $15 and without my friend’s name even I already wrote in to request. The only nice food is the roast chicken. Not too sure how they win Michelin. The waiter didn’t even explain to us what’s the food and the story.

Visited Kinship with high expectations. Waited 10 minutes for service, only to find our server was also the busy bartender. A 23% service charge promised premium service, which sadly wasn’t met, especially when our food arrived cold. While understanding the charge’s intent to support staff, the overall experience—delayed and cold service—didn’t match up. Hoping Kinship aligns its service and food quality with its pricing soon.

Really enjoyed the tuna, squid, quail and pineapple as the dessert. The tuna is my favourite as it was well balanced with aroma of fruit and nuts (roasted banana, orange and sunflower seeds). Crispy crust with juicy tender inside fish. The touch of lemon grass made the dish so memorable and distinct from other restaurant. They rotate their menu with the season.
