March '24: I was thinking of picking up pho here later today but the website indicates that its base price is now $19; so I'm hesitant. I may need to go soon and see what's up, as it's been a while. Nov '22: I'm torn about withholding a fifth star until they switch from styrofoam takeaway containers, but the pho is so good... Spring 2021 UPDATE: Still awesome pho; I wish they would offer takeout in sealable containers that are also easily recyclable (so, not Styrofoam). Something that can get the food home without spilling or getting crushed, and is environmentally friendlier -- I would gladly pay a small service/to-go fee for that! Please. -->e.g. cardboard-y for the non- broth [that is not sealable but sturdier & can be composted]. See Sweetgreen for example! Yummy pho (I usually order pho ga and add steamed veggies--best I've had in Austin), appetizers, etc.! Nice makeover on the interior since they reopened. Tapioca inconsistent, often soggy, undercooked, or a combo of both and limited bubble tea options, but a solid choice for soups/ grub!! Parking: The street parking available would be a long block or more away around Morrow & Guadalupe -- but although there are several businesses in the little strip where it's located, I haven't experienced a full parking lot there at any time when KP is open.
I like their Wednesday night Pho for $9. I have been going to Kim Phung for over 20 years. They have changed a few things but overall it is still the best!
It's a really rundown place and its Pho tastes more like chicken broth from a can.
It really feels like they have been cost cutting on the ingredients. Their idea of mixed vegetables now consists of 4 pieces of broccoli and 5 or 6 slices of carrot and a mountain of sliced celery and onion. It was very disappointing once I realized what I had paid for a bunch of cheap fillers.
Don’t order from their Uber Eats vegan pop up called ‘Phuket I’m vegan’. All the food is pictured incorrectly and tastes terrible/unseasoned.
Sesame chicken is alright but overpriced, like most items
RIP Kim Phung. Sadly you're as dead to us as the Cedar Park location. The food has gone so far downhill we will never be back & counter staff is not friendly or helpful. The pork egg rolls are not the original ones and I asked before I ordered!! I waited over 35 min. for take out when there was no one else in the restaurant. FYI - customers that ordered delivery or take out - there were dozens+ of your orders sitting on the tables before I got there and after I left. I can only imagine how your food was...
