NOPE!! NEVER AGAIN!! After an over 10 year hiatus after a previous bad experience at Kelly's Diner where there were live ants in my daughter's chocolate chip pancakes we decided to try them again and see if things had improved. The answer is A BIG FAT NOPE!!!! Service is terrible! We went in today hoping to have brunch and we were completely ignored by the staff. After five minutes I finally asked if we could sit anywhere and the woman behind the counter rudely snapped "NO, Not till we clean our tables!" So we waited for another five minutes. No table was cleaned and we were not spoken to by any member of the staff. We decided to walk out! Found another brunch place that was nice, clean and friendly with delicious food that is free of ants!!! We will NEVER, EVER BE GOING BACK TO KELLY'S AGAIN!!! Terrible Service, Rude & Unfriendly Staff! Definitely do not recommend!!!
Very cool place to visit! The food was good/okay, got the corn beef hash and it was pretty good but nothing too crazy. That being said the experience is what makes the place worth going. everything makes you feel like you are in a diner car. The decor the service and everything in between it was magical ✨
Really prototypical diner! Just incredibly busy, but sound bites is currently undergoing renovations so that’s to be expected. Got the #7 special- good value, decent food! They didn’t have any black tea, which was a disappointment, but I’ll give grace and assume they’d run out in the rush.
Great roast beef and an institution that's a must visit in Somerville.
Very polite actually ask if I could have a coffee with my order forger to ask over the phone. She actually popped open each creamer I was so impressed. I was her importance at the moment..with a crowd behind me. They are awesome I come from Dorchester..
Venturing into the heart of our neighborhood, I finally made my way to the iconic Kelly's Diner, a place I'd been meaning to visit for years. The diner's fame was immediately apparent upon arrival, as evidenced by the considerable queue of patrons eagerly waiting outside, despite the hour nearing the diner's closing time. Fortuitously, we managed to secure one of the last available seats for the day, just in the nick of time. Our order consisted of the classic French toast and the weekend special egg Benedict. Both dishes lived up to our expectations, delivering on taste and, notably, on portion size. The servings were so generous that we found ourselves requesting boxes to take home the leftovers, a testament to the diner's value. What truly captured my heart about Kelly's Diner was the ambiance. It was like stepping into a time capsule, with an atmosphere that harkened back to the quintessential '90s and the essence of old American life, reminiscent of scenes from a classic TV show. This nostalgic vibe, combined with the hearty meals, made for a memorable dining experience.
Excellent New England breakfast. Omelet was amazing. The French toast looked even better.
This is such a cute little corner diner. I enjoyed the service and the decorations reminded me of a 90s diner. However the food was lack luster. I order corned beef hash where ever I go. I know that this is a dish often catered to a person's palate but I have to say the flavor was not there nor was the quality. Very mushy and did not have the enjoyable savory flavor. The toast was the best part which is unfortunate cause I paid for a full breakfast to just enjoy the toast. However, although I probably won't be visiting again do not let it stop you from enjoying a sandwich or other items. I'll include a menu and pictures of the restaurant and area.
