Kell's has an impressive basement for great dancing. Beware it can get hot and personal space is non existent. Edit: Apparently this place has fish and chips? Don't worry about that. Just stop by around 11pm on St Paddy's Day and head straight downstairs.

There are not a lot of genuine neighborhood Irish pubs. This is a great one, with a, sincere, pleasant rotating clientele, and patient staff who take care of everyone.

Kells has to be one of the best places to hang out in SF. The bartenders are super friendly, the regulars are always friendly, and the food is really good...much better than average bar food. I stop in weekly and i take my family and friends here when they visit.

I enjoyed the dark wood furnishings and the seating in the basement. It was arranged very well for an evening comedy show.
