Nice place, the owner is extremely nice. The bartender Jose is super cool and his drinks were awesome. The DJ was not very good. She kept cutting songs during the best part,
It’s unfortunate that it takes something bad happening for me to leave a review but I’ll start off with saying that Keenan is one of the remaining, chill Irish pubs left. For the last 7 years I’ve stopped in here a few times a year, the drinks are affordable, I run into a local or someone I know runs into someone, it’s a vibe. Always. Yesterday I came in, already some drinks in and ordered a tequilla soda and a magners. The bartender then brings 2 shots of Casamigos (anyone who knows me knows I don’t drink that). He insisted that I ordered it, even after I tried to explain he was wrong. He raised his voice and made a scene so I didn’t want problems, I paid and that was it. Why would anyone order shots of Casamigos at Keenans? It defeats the point of going to an affordable bar. He was so rude the rest of the night. I’ve been told in the past that this was a racist bar, but never experienced it. I will say last night came close to some discriminatory, bully vibes. Irish bartender, he must be new because I’ve never seen him, sees a Black and Latino crowd come in and sneakily upsells to young women some Casamigo shots he knows we didn’t order. If Calvin is here, don’t go. I sure won’t.
