Typical Ma & Pa style restaurant. Food is pretty much always good. The hashbrowns are never lacking in amount. Bacon is delicious every time. French toast needs cinnamon added and it would be even better. The BA burgers are always huge - need bigger buns to fit! Yummy even with a small bun, just messy. Service today was a bit lacking. I see new staff have been hired so maybe they need a better system going to round tables? I've never been a server so perhaps I'm clueless as to how it works, but felt like it could have been a much smoother process to get orders taken and checks handed out. We waited quite a while for the check after we were done eating. We really enjoy the food here, and supporting local, so I hope the service gets a little better so they can get people in and out efficiently.
The food is always good and hot and the service is friendly and fast.
The pecan waffle was tough. Poor service. Hash browns barely warm undercooked.
So we went to dinner at 630pm on a Friday night. Their special is the prime rib on that night. By the time we were seated and ready to order, 645pm. The waitress told us they were out of prime rib. We ordered the petite sirloin medium rare. The steak was good, but not spectacular. Meals come with the salad bar. The only vegetables on the salad bar was an iceberg lettuce mix with matchstick carrots, and a hint of purple cabbage. Basically, they opened a bag. There were 4 pasta salads, and some mandarin oranges. A salad bar should have at the very least cucumbers or tomatoes. I'm not saying I wouldn't go back. But, it's nothing to brag about. Price of 2 petite sirloin meals with one cup of hot tea and a water for my husband, $32. That's a reasonable price.
