A unique and truly special meal. First, the food is so unique, inspired, and delicious. Second, we were offered a non-alcoholic beverage pairing that was thoughtfully paired with each dish—as someone seeking to decrease my alcohol consumption, I wish every restaurant put a tenth of the thought into their nonalcoholic options as Kato does. Finally, the service is so warm and welcoming. I will be thinking about this meal for a long time.

Best value for a 5 course meal. Quality, taste and presentation are superb. The quantity is not for those who with big appetite. We enjoyed every course! === Kato has moved to down town art district on Alameda St. The new place is beautiful, spacious and industrial design. Service is superb and food has been upgraded. It's delicious, beautiful and fresh. We had the 10 course tasting menu at $275 per person. It was my birthday and my daughter and son-in-law treated us. What a memorable day.

Stopped by for one of the unreserved bar seats. The NA cocktail menu and small plate items are incredibly creative and absolutely Michelin level.

Went for my birthday last night. Sorry I didn’t take any pictures, but wow everything was delicious and fun and unique and exquisitely executed. They were doing a special Lunar New Year cocktail collaboration pairing which was amazing and we also tried both the wine tastings. Incredible selections. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Even the few things I thought I might not like, such as pig ears and a dish with fish maw, were very tasty. I really loved it and wish I was rich so I could come back soon! It’s very expensive but absolutely worth it for a special occasion.

2 star Michelin star restaurant. Starting yuzu sparking drink was exceptional, and we had bar tasting menu (table was fully booked when I tried to reserve). Overall, the bar tasting menu (omakase) was mix of great and mediocre dishes. The best dish was house baked brioche with creamy caviar. Superior service. All staff were professional and there is no room for any argument! We celebrated 2 year anniversary here and thank you Kato for the congratulation special card! Open kitchen which is visible from all tables and bar. I wish I was able to get the full tasting menu reservation, so I would highly recommend full dining service over the bar. Parking: Plenty of spaces in garage Kid-friendliness: Not a place with kids

The creativity and attention to detail enveloped this whole experience from start to finish. The dishes presented as works of art play dalliances with your palete. The service displays a level of professionalism and expertise leaving one feeling completely cared for and brighter. The ambiance is ultra modern with a level of cleanliness rivaling a surgical theatre. The open kitchen gives one a sense of belonging to the whole production and cadence of the service. The non alcoholic pairings were spot on and one can truly feel the level of care and creativity that went into the vast selections. A masterpiece of fine dining! Thank you! Parking: They will validate a certain amount

This is definitely the best Los Angeles restaurant in terms of taste. Quality and creativity. I doubt the reason they are not rated as Michelins two or three stars purely due to the interior environment. Highly recommended!!
