Kamdesh Afghan Cuisine

My car was broken and stolen at this site. They brought in a cameraman and they did asked permission from everyone, except my husband and me. This made us feel uncomfortable, and as a result, we decided to leave. Our intention was to enjoy a peaceful meal without someone recording us, only to later discover that our car had been vandalized.

The food was great, my first experience eating this kind of food in a restaurant. I had the chicken kebab with the brown rice and some black tea. My friends had the mix kebab plate and the super crispy chicken wings with French fries. [I know, is 2 white guys and a Mexican cut us a break!] I have to say the chicken breast kebab was very good and the tea was good. The rice was 7.5 out of 10. The family of the workers running around laughing and screaming as they played added to the ambiance of the mostly empty building. I enjoying hearing them play and laugh, although my friend was very annoyed and wanted to pull his ears off. Depends on your mindset I suppose, it's was cute to me but I have baby fever already. The service was decent but the ladies seem they could use a little more help at times with the mobile/to-go orders and the front of house. Overall I enjoyed myself and felt very comfortable. My only time eating this food before is was at friend's family dinners or clients wanting to thank me with food; compared to the home cooking I've had I'd give this a 4.5 if I could. My friend asked for onions and peppers and hotsuace and she said "suuuure" then never came. I don't know if that's normal to have but he seemed to think so. Lovely family afghan place overall reminded me of my fondest childhood friends and their family kebab nights❤️

I am disappointed to give this review but i hope this review bring correction in the business that kamdesh is serving to customers, the atmosphere of this restaurant is very comfortable , but i am sad to say that the rice they brought was first cold and had to go back to the kitchen management to asked them for warm rice as i believe no body is willing to eat cold cooked rice ,and when they brought warm rice i noticed that it was tough and hard to eat means it was not cooked well and plus the lamb was not from fresh meat i could feel it while eating it was recooked , i am saying this because traditionally i was grow up with these kinds of food and i know the goods and bad qualities about my traditional food, as it may not be noticeable for some one who is trying it first . Note ( we ordered Lamb teka , fish and manto ) which is not in the below review thread

On 11th April 2024 we came from San Francisco to eat lunch here, The Food the rice and Chopan Kabab they provide us was looking from a day old cooked, We told them that this food is not in that condition as we expect and should be like we eat other restaurants, they were not help full As we know about the taste of our country food and way to be cooked this food will not reflect Afghan traditional food according to taste and quality this is what we can taste and find out. foreigners might not understand this as they are not more familiar with our foods But the atmosphere was good wish they increase food quality,

I had attended the iftaar buffet. A special buffet laid out to help the fasting Muslim population have their evening meal. Sufficient space to offer namaz (salah) prayers. Delicious Afghani cuisine.
