Kabuto Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Bar

Came to celebrate my 8 year wedding anniversary with my husband tonight. The hostess looked to the host to ask if they could seat us since there was only the two of us. He immediately cut her off and rudely blurted out that they were not accepting “walk ins” and that we “need to find somewhere else to go”. We asked him if he could repeat himself, thinking we may have misheard. Nope, he said it again with zero hesitation. Will not be returning to this location.

I am not not upset with Kabuto's in anyway. The food was good. Good. The place was exactly the same from 22 years ago and the waitress showed me a nasty attitude when I asked her to change my plate 2X before putting food on it. Maybe she had a bad day. I understand and hopefully it all worked out for her. Nonetheless, it was the same Kabuto's from the early 2000's. Same exact interior, with a smell in the bare/bathroom/entrance area. Nothing whatsoever had changed. Even a complete stranger sitting with us at the table said there was a 180 degree difference of what Kabuto used to be. The food was good and the Chef was polite and I'm grateful for that. However, the experience wasn't great, at all. It was very okay but not great. They bring you to-go trays and bags without you even asking for them. Very systematic process. It was like 50% Hibachi-Power.

The food is always great! The waitress did forget to put in my cucumber roll and then said she didn't think that they made them. Once I told her what's in it, they were very accommodating in my request for this simple appetizer. There is a lot of loud music played when someone is celebrating a birthday, but that's part of the experience.

A birthday for a family member & was a great experience.

Randomly picked this spot for dinner. Walked in and the atmosphere was giving "back in the day". The staff was extra friendly and were the highlights of the night. Our chef was awesome and interacted with us the entire time. The food wasn't that great but the experience made up for the lack of everything else.
