This restaurant was so beautiful inside. Loved everything we tried. My favorite was the beef tartare! Very nice cocktail/mocktail menu as well.
We went to the dinner service. Our daughters ordered the fried chicken sandwiches and my spouse and I ordered the shrimp and grits. We could see the sandwiches sitting under the heating lamp for about 10 minutes and I finally asked if they were ours and if we could please have them since the girls were hungry. After 15 minutes of our daughters eating, the GM apologized for the delay citing there had been “an incident earlier with the grits” and he would make sure our food would come out soon. He stated he would take care of our entrees. Our food came out 40 minutes later. While I understand things happen in a kitchen but this was ridiculous. When our entrees arrived, the grits were slightly under cooked, the shrimp were chewy and the sauce was salty. Needless to say we were very disappointed in our experience.
Lovely staff and an even more lovely environment with excellent food.
A french dinner while in New Orleans is always a treat. We were sat immediately on a rainy Friday night and Bryce, our sommelier happily helped us choose a great bottle to enjoy with our meal. We started with the little jem salad, basic and boring. Next were the mussels, wagyu with frites and whole branzino. I wasn't a fan of the mussels, something was off - maybe the acidic broth? But I'd definitely recommend and return for the other entrees.
I’m surprised this restaurant isn’t more highly rated. I understand it may be a bit too fresh and modern for what people come to New Orleans for, but I have to say the food is delicious! The beef tartare was delightful, though it needs to be served with more bread. The only other complaint is that while we were enjoying our beef tartare appetizer they brought out our entres as well. If this place was packed with a long line, I’d understand the rush to get our food out quickly but the place was dead and we felt like the food was being shoved down our throat coming out so quickly. Nonetheless I would still go back. The chicken sandwich and pork bolognese were delicious. The espresso martini was also very tasty. We were too full for dessert but perhaps another time
A pleasant surprise! Their fritters are great and macaroni with crabs outstanding. A short walk from most hotels in Canal Street. Friendly and welcoming staff. Recommended
