Ordered the lunch bento box. On a cold day, a hot cup of miso soup is very welcome. Miso was good, as was everything in my box (sesame chicken, vegetable tempura.) No ridiculously sized portions, just quality food that tastes very good. The sauces are all gentle and not overpowering, as a good sauce should be. I'll be happy to come back here again. Might even be a new lunch haunt for me.
Parking: 1 and 2 hour parking around the area
The food was very tasty. We went on a rainy Saturday afternoon. It wasn't busy. It was nice. It's pricey, however, not too pricy. If that makes any sense. The quality of food is great. And we got taken care of by Summer. And the owner was out there helping wiping tables. It's hard not to love this place. Parking: It's midtown, so parking isn't the best. But it's still worth a little walk. A block if that.
Ju Hachi is located in Sacramento's midtown area and offers a taste of their Japan with curated menu, featuring entrees, sets, rolls, and even rotating seasonal items. We arrived around 8pm on a Sunday night for dinner. the restaurant was sparsely populated at this hour, and we were seated quickly without any wait. we decided to order their capitol roll, sunshine roll, and mini chirashi set. The rolls were expertly crafted full of fresh fish and accompanying flavors that made for a truly enjoyable bite every time. I will admit however, that the roll cuts were a tad uneven and so some pieces were quite a bit larger than others, which may not bother everyone, but did make it a bit difficult for me to finish some of the pieces in just one bite. As good as their rolls were, the star of the meal was definitely their mini chirashi set, which was also highly recommended by our server. The mini chirashi comes with 10 pieces of sashimi over sushi rice, accompanied by with mixed tempura, miso soup, and sunomono salad (or Japanese cucumber salad) - you truly get the most bang for your buck. As with their other raw fish offerings, the chirashi set was fresh and flavorful, while the accompanying tempura was a crispy delight to eat. Definitely my go-to item for any future meals I partake in here. If you're looking for Japanese cuisine in the midtown area, then I highly recommend giving Ju Hachi a try!
Went there for lunch today. Wanted to try their spicy pork ramen. The service took about 10 minutes to get some water and to get beverages. Which is understandable since they were short staffed, but on the other hand it took a little while to even put in our order and I had to ask for my beverage because it was taking a while. Long story short, received the spicy pork ramen. It was very bland and the spice level was near to none. The chashu was a little on the chewy side. Wish it was more like melting your mouth .The beverages I got was almost room temperature which is not good when you want an ice cold beer. On top of the service and probably wouldn't be going back anytime soon.
