On Friday March 1, 2024 around 9:45pm my family and I decided to visit Joyas restaurant for a casual evening out. However, what was supposed to be an enjoyable experience turned into a disappointing one due to the unprofessional behavior of the bartender. Upon our arrival at Joyas, we opted to sit at the bar and enjoy a few drinks. However, when the bartender approached us to offer a table, we politely declined and expressed our preference to stay at the bar. It was at this moment that we noticed a sudden change in the bartender's facial expression, as if he was annoyed or disgusted by our choice. To our surprise, instead of placing the menus on the bar in a courteous manner, the bartender threw them onto the table, causing them to scatter like playing cards. This lack of basic etiquette was not only unprofessional but also disrespectful. Understandably, my brother-in-law was upset by the bartender's behavior and decided to speak with someone who appeared to be a manager or shift supervisor named Glen. He approached Glen and expressed his concerns about the bartender's attitude, emphasizing that his intention was not to get the bartender in trouble but rather to highlight the need for better customer service. Unfortunately, Glen's response was far from satisfactory. He dismissively asked my brother-in-law what he expected him to do about it, suggesting that the bartender's behavior was acceptable and should be tolerated. Appalled by Glen's reaction and the overall lack of professionalism displayed by the staff, we made the decision to gather our belongings and leave Joyas restaurant. It was disheartening to witness such disregard for customer satisfaction and basic courtesy. Our experience at Joyas restaurant was marred by the unprofessional behavior of the bartender and the dismissive response from the supposed supervisor. As customers, we expect to be treated with respect and courtesy, regardless of our seating preference. It is unfortunate that our visit to Joyas was overshadowed by these negative encounters. We hope that the management takes this feedback seriously and addresses the need for better training and customer service within their establishment.
I've been coming to Joya for years, close to a decade I'd say, but last night 3.1.2024 @ 945p was a terrible experience. I was with a group of 5 and sat at the bar. We wanted a drink or two as we already ate dinner at another establishment. I say this with no disrespect but the bartender (male, who has had some sort of plastic surgery) was extremely disinterested and nasty to my party. He rolled his eyes at the group and just left menus on the bar. No introduction, no water, no eye contact. I was taken aback instantly and tried to speak with someone I thought was management. I believe his name was Glenn. I told him the situation and the experience, namely the fact that the bartender had been so rude during our initial contact. Glenn was passive and disinterested as well. I gathered by party and left. I will not be coming back here in the future nor will I be recommending it. Joya postures it self as a great dining experience because of the location and ambiance of the restaurant but the service is lacking and the food has also been on the decline (I ate there a week before with a friend). That bartender needs etiquette classes and Glenn can benefit from knowing how to interact with customers. 1 star experience but would give it none if that was an option.
The quality went downhill.
Large portions and lots of flavor. The service was great. We loved the atmosphere and decor here. Enjoyed watching the open kitchen. Seating is perfect for solo diners, couples, and families
My favorite Thai restaurant! I love their ppad see yue and the pineapple fried rice is amazing! Also Thai milk tea is by far my absolute favorite out of every Thai restaurant I’ve been to. Servers are so kind and nice, atmosphere is great ☺️
Been coming here for as long as I can remember (at least a decade). Love the pad see you, fried calamari, and green curry. Can see and smell the food being cooked out in the open (kitchen is in the same room as the restaurant). Will always come back every once in a while.
Incredible green curry and tom yum soup
Really good chicken pad Thai. $16, and was ready for takeout in like 15 min.
Liked the open kitchen concept ! You can see what people are cooking. Good food overall.
