Jose's Taco Shop

This was hands down the worst Mexican food I’ve had since coming to San Diego. The staff is pleasant , professional and prompt. The facility is clean and beautifully decorated(I dig old fashiony wood ‍♀️). But the food was so bland and poorly prepared I was legit confused about what I was eating. Seriously guys, change your friggin oil! OMW home from work I ordered a carnitas taco, a carne asada taco, 1 crispy chicken taco, a side of guacamole and a side of chips; I took 3 green and 1 red salsa. The chicken was SO dry(though flavorful, if oddly porky) that even a line of each salsa did nothing to improve the texture. The chips(having OBVI been cooked in their old grease) were crispy but I DEFS won’t be needing lip gloss the rest of the evening, and why they tasted like pork rinds is beyond me . The carne asada/carnitas tacos’ shells were both too hard to chew and neither meat had ANY flavor having been completely overcooked. Surprisingly the carnitas did NOT taste porky ‍♀️. And the watery green goop was NOT guacamole! NGL, the flavorless avocado soup is what offended me to the point of this review. Like this was a shockingly bad meal, but at least it was inexpensive($17). I’m shooketh, like how are they selling food? Maybe it’s money laundering ‍

Anything you order will be delicious! The Tortas and Tacos are absolutely fantastic... ¡Disfruta de esta comida increíblemente deliciosa!

Good food very fast for lunch

Food is very good...that's a 5 star. The one star is for the old guy cashier who never said hello...smiled and seemed painfully unhappy. When he gave me my burrito which was excellent he never said thank you or smiled. As a health care provider and business owner I can tell you that this kind of person is poison to your business. My sense is that he is the owners father because no one would EVER hire this man. Send him packing and hire someone who might actually know BASIC customer service.

Good spot for lunch. The burritos are good , so are the rolled tacos. And the salsas are .

Value price burritos fast service and plenty of indoor seating.

Bueno, empezaré diciéndoles que ese lugar estaba más o menos cuando tenían la salsa bar, ahora que no la tienen, ya no tiene sentido la última vez incluso pedí una salsa y el viejito que estaba ahí atendiendo me dió una sola salsa y estaba la mitad y parece que ya tenía bastantes días, cobran las zanahorias cobran los jalapeños en serio que ya no tiene caso Para mí era la única razón la salsa bar y si siguen teniendo clientela es nada más porque están cerca de Home Depot y la gente que trabaja tiene que ir a comprar su lonche a lo mejor de eso se están agarrando Yo voy a otros lugares donde tienen igual o mejor sazón y tienen salsa bar Lo siento, tenía que agregar otra cosa el viejito que trabaja ahí siempre está de malhumor le habla uno de mal modo yo lo he saludado y a veces ni contesta ya se puede retirar…o que agradezca que tiene trabajo y dulcifique su tono.
