Jongro Gopchang

My favorite food is Gopchang, then I visited various Gopchang restaurants in New York. But here is my favorite place. So tasty. So fresh. Nice staffs.

The staff and servers were extremely attentive, which was great. However, the prime brisket was not as good as I was hoping for. On the other hand, the Gopchang combo was amazing! The Gopchang in particular was fantastic and the best I've ever tasted. The Daechang and other intestine parts were decent, but not as good as the Gopchang. The side dishes were delicious and perfectly complemented the meal. Unfortunately, they did not serve a soy-based sauce for the combo, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, I have had better gopchangs in LA, but this place was still pretty good.

Best fed I’ve been at a Korean BBQ; the ratings here are well deserved — good sized portions of very good quality meats. The service was good, albeit unspectacular, and the atmosphere similar; I would note they were entirely friendly and we were notably never rushed or pressured (which can be common at busy k-town bbq places). Their specialty is definitely the BBQ meats. The sides were pretty good, but perhaps not as varied as other top establishments; the alcohol options were pricey and a bit limited. Grilled veggies made only a token appearance. But the meat was excellent and copious. Enjoyed greatly. Their seating can accommodate decently large groups, and their grilling setup was definitely one of the best in the area. Wheelchair accessibility: Elevators; more accessible than most area locations.

Jongro is above Citi in Korea town — so it may be a bit hard to find. But this hole-in-the-wall is definitely worth checking out. Servings are generous and the sizzling beef is tender and tasty. Service is quick once you get past the queue, but it’s a bit chaotic before you’re seated.

진짜 건물 전체가 사람으로 넘쳐난다. 엘리베이터도 놀이기구 타듯이 기다리다 탄다ㄷ 기나긴 웨이팅 끝에 맛볼 수 있었는데 울뻔함. 그동안 한국이 그리운건 아니었는데 먹자마자 강제로 그리워짐. 전골이 너무 그리우면 한 번 가서 해소시키면 좋을듯

The only go-to for Kbbq! Great interior decor, excellent service and great food!
