Johnny's Harborside

My recommendation! tasty seafood, great views of Santa Cruz Yacht Harbor, friendly waiters, plenty of metered parking (bring coins: $2 hour), pleasant decor/atmosphere. Bring a sweater...kinda cool in winter. We enjoyed eating lunch here!

This fresh fish restaurant is right on the harbor in Santa Cruz and fresh fish is brought in from the boats right there. I had the fish tacos and they were fantastic very generous portions! There's a nice view of the harbor and the restaurant is upstairs so despite the fact you're in a parking lot it is a good view. They had a Humble Sea and Santa Cruz Mountain Brewery on tap. The person serving us was either the manager or the owner and was super nice and helpful and they were really flexible about fish and food substitutions.

Average, but the waitress clinched the 2 star rating. Calamari was soggy, snapper sandwich was average, like, I'm being generous to call it average. Waitress - Attitude disguised by saccharine, assuming people are dumb. I don't often write bad reviews but I can't help it on this one.

We just left the restaurant and my whole family is full and happy. The manager and staff were so nice too. Thanks you much

I'm not sure what happened. Born and raised here. Have gone to Johnny's for years. Went in for dinner with a friend. Ordered a couple of drinks that were really bad. Couldn't finish. My dinner was Shrimp Scampi which I get a lot. Tonight it was some sort of broth. No wine or garlic for that great scampi yum. It had no flavor for $31.00. Plus, don't get me wrong, I love dogs. But I'm sorry, dogs roaming the restaurant and barking and hanging in the kitchen area is not okay. And So called service dogs don't do this. I will try again. But hopefully ownership will take notice.
