Joey D's Oak Room

Went for lunch. Had not been in many years. The atmosphere is open and beautiful. I am certain the food is exceptional. However, the dish I order was way too spicy for me. I was only able to eat 2-3 bites before my mouth was on fire. The waitress never came back to ask how the meal was and when she saw my full plate of Chicken Rigatoni pushed to the side, she asked if I was done and took it away without inquiring if there was anything wrong. Meals were prompt and hot. My companion enjoyed her steak salad but substituted chicken and I did enjoy the cream of mushroom soup special.

I discovered this quaint little bistro while speaking at a convention in Atlanta and I was amazed. The rainbow trout was grilled to perfection and, pared with a side of their creamed spinach, was the perfect meal following my drive from Nashville. Excellent service reminiscent of an earlier era when those things mattered. Thank you Joey D. Highly recommend.
