Had two sandwiches there back to back days, they were both phenomenal. At a $15 price point, it is expensive however they are large, dense, and high quality sandwiches. Shown in picture I had mortadella, prosciutto, fried eggplant, and mozzarella. All the ingredients felt fresh and easily beat out delis in other areas of NY. The place is nice as well and smells good.
Everything is fresh and delicious. The customer service I received each time is top tier.
I'VE BEEN GOING TO JOE'S DELI SINCE 2007 VERY DELICIOUS FOOD AND TWO TABLES TO SIT AND EAT IF YOU'RE THAT HUNGRY !!! AT LEAST MORE THAN 20 TYPES OF SANDWICHES ON THE MENU AND YOU CAN ALSO MAKE IT TO ORDER. SANDWICHES ARE ALL FOOT-LONG FRESH HEROS AND HOMEMADE MOZZARELLA CHEESE. THEY ALSO SERVE HOT FOOD THAT WOULD MAKE AN ITALIAN GRANDMA PROUD. Vegetarian options: NOT A VEGETARIAN PLACE BUT A CARNIVORES HEART'S DELIGHTS - PARADISE ON EARTH !!! THE VARIOUS KINDS OF OLIVES, ARTICHOKE HEARTS, GRILLED GARDEN VEGETABLES MIGHT BE CONSIDERED VEGETARIAN DISHES. Parking: PARKING IS AVAILABLE IF YOU'RE WILLING TO DRIVE AROUND THE BLOCK TO FIND A SPOT. IF YOU HAVE THE EXTRA CASH, THEN PAID GARAGES OR PARKING LOTS ARE AVAILABLE BUT YOU HAVE TO CONSIDER THE WALKING DISTANCE TO THE STORE. CONSIDER IT EXERCISE TO MAKE ROOM IN YOUR STOMACH. Wheelchair accessibility: THERE IS ROOM FOR ONLY ONE WHEELCHAIR IN THE STORE TO MOVE AROUND WITH ROOM TO SPARE. IF IT WAS WALKERS, THEN FOUR OR FIVE WOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM.
When it comes to picking the "best" Italian deli on Arthur Avenue in the Bronx it's not quite as simple as pointing to a single winner. It really depends on what you're looking for! Today I was looking for a loaded and delicious Italian sandwich and I found one at Joe's.
Went into Joe's Italian Deli today after we dropped our son off at Fordham. We had such an amazing experience as every member of the staff interacted with us, shared funny stories and even offered us different samples to try! We ordered two sandwiches and a stromboli. We ate the stromboli there and brought the sandwiches home for dinner. Everything was EXCELLENT! The meats were all freshly sliced, the rolls were perfect and withstood a 2 hour drive home without turning soggy. The place was immaculately clean and they had such a wide variety of Italian food items for sale. In addition to our lunch/dinner we bought a few giant jars of the best olives around and a giant jar of artichokes. If you happen to be in the area, don't miss out on this gem. In fact, it's worth a trip up to the Bronx!
