Jibaritos de la Isla

My Carribean island here in San Diego! Everyone is great here. Food, music, and company. Every Saturday night is Caribe night! The main floor plays Bachata, Salsa, and Merengue! They even have a free salsa / bachata dance class from 8 that 9. Other than that, my go to plates is the Papa Rellena with the Jibarito plate with steak and fried plantains. (Video shown)

Family centric and friendly with a variety of Puerto Rican and Dominican dishes. The owner sat with us and have to say was impressed by her hospitality. Looking forward to trying more on the menu! My fav was the Yucca dishes, Dominican Burger, Plantain bowls, Tostones… yummy!

We were excited to get some Dominican food in San Diego. The food - not so great and to make matters worse there was a fly in my drink! Don’t think I will visit again!

I came here for lunch with some colleagues, and ordered the Mofongo Plate with skirt steak. Absolutely delicious!

It’s the Pollo Frito y Arroz con Gandules, Maduros, y Flancocho for me. I so love this place! Every week the Flancocho flavor changes, but my favorite is the pineapple. Try any meal with a Kola Champagne. If you know then you know! As a Dominican woman, this is the closest thing to home in San Diego for me.

Food was wonderful, long time since I ate Puertorrican food, alcapurias, mofongo, arroz con gandules, a real flashback. Thank you it was magnificent... vayaaaa

Food was amazing! It was fresh and full of flavor. Definitely coming back here to eat!!

Never disappoints. This is out favorite spot for pastelillos and pernil. A staple now, in our home. We drive from Ramona regularly, when we need a fix of home cooked food.

Omgoodness! Placed an order for a jibaritos sandwich on phone . And on my way to pickup the order while they called saying that they ranned out of the chicken. So we order something else. As I go to this place. It was crowded with dine-in customers. No wonder, they ranned out. It's was really rude manner of them! They Never apologized toward us! I got there, and waited for the order to be given to me by the waitress. All she was doing is laughing at me. I wanted to tell her what's so funny? But really, totally outrageous, rude manners. Horrible service, bad customers services, with the waitress on phone calls ordering! also while picking up the order. Seem to me that all waitress are high on something to be laughing at the customer's, while entering into this place to pickup the order. I will not come here again!
