They moved to across from the University of South Alabama and the quality has cratered in both food and service. Don't bother. Try 7 Spice or some other place.

We ordered the Grilled Shrimp with Feta as an appetizer. They should have called it chunky vegetables with feta and shrimp. The dish had 5 shrimp, a couple chunks of Feta and a whole bunch of chunky inexpensive vegetables (zucchini, squash and carrots). It was almost $15. Not worth your time. We also ordered the dinner feast for two. It was not a lot considering it was supposed to be for two people. We got one soup and one salad. The house Greek salad is NOT worth your time. The lentil soup was quite good. The hummus and STACK of pita bread were good, however they only gave us ONE olive and ONE cherry tomato and ONE little feta cheese which we cut in half. We each had one falafel ball, they were decent. The stuffed grade leaves were divine. A must have! We had one each. The lamb, chicken and beef (kifta) kabobs were dry and tough. The baklava was delicious, however the slice was about the size of a half dollar. The kabobs were on a plate full of rice. Not going back. We spent about $80 for a little of nothing. I didn't even finish my half. The gyros were actually just two slices of meat...beef...they looked like long slices of SPAM and were also very tough.

Falafels and hummus (and sides) were very good as usual, though the Greek salad was disappointing as there was only one olive, half of a cherry tomato and a few pieces of onion. The rest was mostly average lettuce.

I visited this location and asked to speak with a manager, Guess what the lady receptionist said she is the closest I could get as a manager so I said are you authorized to buy staff for the restaurant she said no that's the owner, so I said who is the owner and can I speak with him, she said NO we are not allowed to give the owner name, I don't know what kind of business they run that not allowed employees to pass them and speak with owner or a Manger ?!

Jerusalem Cafe is one of the restaurants I’d been looking to go back to. It’s been a few years since my last visit. I don’t even remember what I had but I do remember I always wanted to return. This time I had a difficult choice choosing between two dishes. Those dishes were the gyro platter and the chicken pastry plate. Ultimately my decision came down to one factor. I had never had a chicken pastry. The chicken pastry plate was the only choice. I ordered the chicken pastry plate which came with rice and grilled carrots, zucchini, and squash. You also get a choice of a side salad or soup. I ordered the side salad. My order was ready when I arrived at the restaurant. There were a number of patrons dining while I picked up the food. The last time I went to Jerusalem Cafe it was at the Airport Boulevard location. The new building on Old Shell looks very nice. I will have to dine in the next time I go. When I opened the plate the food looked absolutely amazing. It smelled lovely as well. The salad was the first thing I tried. What delighted me about the salad was the green salad dressing. I’m sure the name of the dressing is on the menu somewhere but I didn’t look. Anyway, the dressing had a citrus flavor that really took it to a new level. My only complaint is that I wish it came with more olives. The chicken pastry plate was definitely the right choice. It came with a sauce that again I had no idea what it was called. I put the sauce on the rice, vegetables, and pastry. Although I said I never had a chicken pastry plate before, it was much like a chicken pot pie. Although the seasonings and structure were different the breading texture seemed consistent with a chicken pot pie. It was tremendously delicious. I definitely would recommend this to anyone who hasn’t tried it. Five stars for a great meal at Jerusalem Cafe.
