Really love eating breakfast there. There's smothered green. Chili is perfect. Great taste and not too spicy.
Food is great when you're eating it ... less so later. Lol - nothing bad, just greasy and heavy. Friendly, fun vibe with a good menu of Tex-mex style Mexican (minus migas - they had no idea what I was talking about.) Good little neighborhood spot.
Ordered a reuben sandwich with onion rings to go. The roast beef was well done to the point of being black-burnt on the edges and chewy. If there was any thousand-island dressing on the sandwich I couldn't tell. The onion rings were not fully cooked i.e. dripping wet on the inside. Their ketchup packets contain high fructose corn syrup. The hostess was very nice and the atmosphere was great.
This place was excellent. The atmosphere was great and so colorful. Our server was super nice and they were incredibly accommodating. I highly recommend this place. The carnitas was fire!
My husband and I ordered shrimp and beef fajita takeout for dinner. The food was good. However, my husband and I got the worst food poisoning we’ve ever had. I’ve been up since 3 am throwing up and feel awful. We hadn’t eaten anything since 11am so this food was for sure the cause. Because of this I unfortunately can not recommend and want to keep others weary of this establishment.
Can't believe I've never spoken about Javier's. This place is a Northside treasure. EXCELLENT food, great service, love their drinks. Today I had their Enchiladas Michoacán (enchiladas with carnitas)... delicious . My wife went for their huevos rancheros, but took one bite and decided she was full (she had already gone to town on their chips and salsa + the guacamole). That didn't stop her from ordering the piña colada, however . The colada was so good, Mar Mar and my wife had to share it . I had a tequila sunrise... or two... or three . All told it was a wonderful meal and morning. You should check out out.
Quiet Mexican diner. Enjoyed taco salad and street tacos
Solid breakfast burrito and very nice staff. Can't believe I've never been here before, but I'll be back to try the molcajete!
