Have both dined in and taken out here. The Indonesian "tapas" (dine in only) was so much food I thought I was going to explode.... Every dish was so good. Since then, we've ordered take out twice and the food has been so tasty. Recommended: Mie goreng (lo mein on crack), telor tahu (omelette with so much unami and a little rice), and ayam belado (chicken in a heavenly spicy sauce)

We come to Java all the time for delicious Indonesian food, but this was our first time trying the Rijsttafel and it was incredible! The multi- course meal was so full of flavor, from the opening chicken soup to the EIGHT curries during the main course. The service was sincere and warm. An amazing value considering just how much food is in the experience and what a unique sampling you receive! Truly an unforgettable culinary experience.

Stands apart from Park Slope restaurants in all ways. Clean and unique taste, cooking from the heart, and wonderful women who I believe own and run the restaurant create a special atmosphere. I've had very special homemade Indonesian cooking before, and eating here brought that forward in new ways...

I came two times so far. I loved it so much the first time that I came here on my birthday. It's really good and it's a HALAL place to eat. Also if you enjoy food that hurts you back, COME HERE. The both times I've come here there weren't many customers so this place is EXTREMELY underrated. I love Thai food so I really wanted to try Indonesian food because of their similar dishes and spices but this place is now in my top favorites, even beating Thai food I've had because I was able to try new dishes I've never had before. Their soups are really good, especially this yellow soup I had with soybean(I'll edit the name in), their chicken satay and corn fritters were really good too, I can't remember but everything I had in these pictures were enjoyed. 11/10 peanut and sambal sauce- the spice in their food was amazing too. I came here a couple months ago so I don't remember the specific foods I ate but everything I ordered was good.

My partner is from Jakarta, and she believes this is the MOST AUTHENTIC Indonesian food she has had in America. That should be all you need to know.... And to top it off, the owner is a lovely Indonesian woman who provides great service. And the bang for your buck is impressive - especially recommend the "Indonesian tapas" for 2 deal. Great value.
