Famous for their lobster rolls but don’t miss all the other great fresh items on the menu and to-go items! We travelled back to New York with a pound of fresh shrimp cocktail, clam chowder and two large lobster rolls with extra drawn butter. A few small tables inside the shop accommodate diners while the outdoor seating area is open all year long. And great fast service!
We are visiting from Toronto Canada and ordered 5 lobster rolls, 4 with mayo, 1 with butter. Hard to compare to the Nova Scotia Lobster rolls we had last year, it is very expensive about $10 dollars more than Nova Scotia. The Lobster was delicious, but does not fill you up, it should be paired with a side of something for that price.
Lobster roll was fantastic, the clam chowder was excellent, and the lobster bisque was a debbie downer. (No flavor nor pieces of lobster present ). Service was quick, parking is bare minimum behind the building close to 7 spots. Seating was very tight maybe 6 tables. If you wish to purchase a live lobster you can choose it out the tank. When I return to Boston, I will return for more menu items that struck my interest.
Place need more table for dinning inside when cold weather.
Didn't live up to the hype for me. The lobster was fresh, just nothing to write home about. The taste was just ok... lobster, butter, and bread. The clam chowder was mostly potatoe, and the lobster bisque was not too creamy. It looked watered down. James Hook & Co should take a quick field trip to: Yankee Lobster at Seaport and taste their lobster rolls, Bisque, and chowda. Creamy, and lots of lobster chunks. Had a small bisque that had about four claws in it. That is how you do it *wink, wink...*
Very small place for dining in, but great seafood.
