Jakarta Munch

I stopped by Jakarta munch at a spring festival in NYC and this was the most delightful Indonesian rice/salad bowl I’ve ever tried. Very flavorful and perfect size portion for the price. Delicious 10/10 will try again.

Cheap and accessible

We had the Indonesia Rice/salad bowl. It's done with coconut rice (it has large shaved flakes of coconut, ought to be finely shredded if any), the protein is chicken & curry is gulai (or something like that). The taste is overly toned down for the white folks. It's totally inauthentic. The worst Malaysian or Indonesian food I ever had is way better than this. Furthermore, they have the audacity to charge 4% for non-cash. Don't buy from this place. It's not worth the trauma.

11/10 for sure! A total hidden gem in the Asian food hall! We walked past after having breakfast and we saw there was a huge queue. I went to the front and asked what are you selling that is so popular and I found out the lady behind the till was actually the owner! She was super friendly and let us try samples of their sauces. She was so warm that we said when we're hungry later we will come back! The food was honestly amazing and it was our first time trying Indonesian food. She even came and found us in the food hall to give us a sample of a traditional Indonesian drink. Amazing experience!
