The food was good as always but the prices are getting a bit steep now. We had burgers, fries and dessert. Service was friendly but not frequent. She came to check on us but didn't take the dirty dishes from the table and never refilled our empty drink glasses. In fact we had to ask as for a refill as we were getting ready to leave.
Service is good. I was there with 2 client with walker, the waitress help us by holding the door. Food is good. Applexxx artichoke spinach appertizer still the best. Wing with teriyaki sauce is good. Fresh cut fried fries.
Jorge, our server was awesome and friendly. Guacamole was cold and fresh. Chicken Tortilla soup was very good and had a lot of chicken. My teriyaki burger was delicious.
Muy buena comida y buen servicio
The burgers were ok but my onion rings arrived cold. They did redo them and they were just ok. My kids both had burgers too, and they barely touched theirs. I made the mistake of ordering a whole wheat bun after the waitress ensured they were fresh, and they were just as bad as you remembered them. My son loved his chocolate milk and the coloring pages were nice. We saw two other sports' families with little kids from our team, so it was a fun touch. It made me realize how spoiled our kids are as this just doesn't happen anywhere we take them! The bathrooms weren't very clean, but I suppose this was to be expected for a Friday. I wanted to give this place a 3 for the sake of the kids, but I can't see ever wanting to return here. In N out is so much better and cheaper! I don't remember when I last dined at Islands, but I don't remember it ever being this mediocre and I hope that I don't have to return any time soon with so many better burger places to try in OC.
Food was good, just not good value for money. $25 per person before tip and with most of us drinking water. It's just not a cheap and easy night out anymore. Parking is always going to be problematic at this location, unavoidably. Service was slow but acceptable. Everything was clean and tidy. Just doesn't represent the value it used to. Sign of the times, maybe. I hope not.
