Island Style

I visited here, yesterday. I live in Connecticut and wanted to do and visit somewhere different. I was born there and have not been for a LONG time. Pleasantly surprised, the food was delicious. The staff was sò nice, friendly and appeared to actually want to be at work. Thanks for the hospitality, Island Style

Best Jamaican food in Boston - the rice is great and all the food items come out cooked fresh on a regular basis throughout the day.

As a Jamaican, I was beyond disappointed. I don’t even like to go out of my way to take time leaving reviews, but i just had to in this situation. To keep it brief, the workers were the rudest people in the service industry i’ve ever dealt with. The attitude was extremely disgusting, and the cook even sang a song mocking me as he prepared the food. And it wasn’t justifiable. I was the nicest person when i walked through that door. He sang that i could make up my mind because i couldn’t decide what i wanted for 30 seconds since they had no cabbage or oxtail, after they refused to provide a menu. But then being rude was not the problem, because as long as my food is good, I don’t care. But the food was awful. I immediately went to Flames and ordered the same thing because I could not take the disgusting “curry”. The picture i put in this review is a side by side of the same order from Island Style and Flames. Anyone who truly loves island food can tell which one they would rather. Never in my life will they get my money again. GO TO FLAMES PLEASE! save your money.

Had a ride fare off of lyft who was from trinidad suggest this place as being better than flames have to say i was majorly disappointed their rice was absolutely terrible it tasted horriboe, i had to absolutely drown it in the curry broth to make it remotely edible at all, the curry chicken the curry itself was bomb but they use chicken scraps to make it

I've been going to the establishment for a while but tonight my food was trash. I got a medium curry chicken and they gave me three pieces of chicken and it was one leg cut up and the other one was a chicken back. I hate chicken back! And on top of that the jerk chicken was cold. Who serves cold jerk chicken? I'm not trashing the place. The food is really good but my meal was not totally disappointed tonight. Beware when going to this establishment
