Iron City is one of my favorite concert venues in Birmingham. It's the perfect size - intimate, but not too small and even in the back, you're still not too far from the stage. I've seen multiple shows there, including Steel Panther this week. They also always have an interesting lineup of shows. And, as they say, it's air conditioned!
Only gave 4 out of 5 stars because I have a very bad spine and choice NOT to bring my brace or anything! Plus , I Needed a handicap parking places in lot next to venue in my opinion. Did not see one , except on street ! So glad we came early for the excellent Mark Broussard band ! Great sound , voices , and amazingly talented musicians! Other than a NO CASH CONCERT for drinks is sad in my opinion. But understand the reasoning.. I use to do security for Tony Rufino; up at Oak Amphitheater and BJCC .. Birmingham-rocks !!!
Great place for music and the sound is always great, but the staff is beyond rude including everyone from the security to the bartenders. Drinks are way overpriced. It's also super hot.It usually is overpacked. All in all you'll have a great show if drink plenty of water, but just try to avoid interacting with anyone that works there or it will ruin you're night. This has happened more than once and it sucks that this place draws pretty big names.Hopefully bands can learn about the many other great venues in Birmingham.
Been here multiple times, Great venue. No matter where you stand you'll have a good view.
