Two years ago I went here three days in a row. I can't get it out of my head. True pitmasters. The smoke lines, the flavor. Nothing compares in Austin. I feel like this is a must for anyone traveling threw or that lives in Austin.
Excellent brisket. Try the Frito Chili Pie sausage!
Really great BBQ place, not my favorite core BBQ, but the special cuts they do are all super good and the sides are all amazing.
Expect long lines due to the popularity, but really great BBQ. Vegetarian options: Why would you want vegetarian options at a wonderful meat fest like you have here??????
So a few things, 1. This place is actually pretty good. The customer service is spot on. Since it was pretty cold, they brought warm apple cider for everyone in line to drink. And they did that a few times, so W them for that. But yeah don't wait in line. If you plan on coming here, just preorder, you have to do so a few days in advance but it'll save you sooooo much time. It takes half an hour once you step inside the restaurant for you to finally order. And it takes 30-60 minutes to wait in the line to get to the actual line. This is because they have one slicer, and two plate prepers. So it takes forever. So they give you white bread to put with your stuff and it's typical. Holds up pretty well. They give you pickles and pickled red onions. Either way, yeah the brisket was alright but I've definitely had better and that was what I was looking forward to the most. It was a tad dry compared to the best I've had. They made it very well for competition standards. The complementary beans were pretty good. The scalloped potatoes were pretty good. The Mac and cheese was pretty meh, don't get it tbh. Banana pudding was alright. The jalapeno sausage was great. And I figured most of their sausage would be. The peach-glazed pork belly was BY FAR the best item on the menu. Crisply tender. Great flavor. Good stuff. Get this over the brisket or just anything else tbh. Their BBQ sauce was standard, vinegar, and mustard. Standard was their best option but I've definitely had better. The mustard was pretty good. Their vinegar BBQ sauce was realllly weak, which is a shame because it's my favorite kind, and coming from the Carolinas, it's a huge disappointment.
Hands down the best BBQ in all of Austin! Super friendly staff! The meat and sides both were so damn good! The lamb and brisket blew me away!
One of if not the best BBQ in Austin. They took an OG Sandwich spot and turned it into a great BBQ joint. Love the food specials and the free beans with your meal should be paid for!! I know I'll buy by the gallon!
