I got takeout from here, it was delicious! High quality and authentic Indian food! Mint chutney is super fresh tasting and the Malai Kofta is on point. If you like Indian food and are considering this place, do not hesitate!
I've been eating here for years. The good is incredible. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options for my wife.
Food is downright amazing- never have had anything I didn't love. The vegetarian menu is also pretty extensive! Almost always come home with some leftovers, too.
The Malai Kofta was very good. The Palak Paneer, which I like in other Indian restaurants, was not good at all. The garlic naan was okay.
UPDATE: Since the team appears to care, here’s some feedback! I don’t know that there’s much you can do about the outdoor area (unless you own the plaza), but any decor/signage would make things more inviting as it currently feels half-abandoned. There are too many unnecessary signs on your windows, making the restaurant look/feel more like a convenience store than a dining venue. Once inside, your lighting, general tidiness, and clutter needs to be improved. If it’s not explicitly meant for guests to see (cleaning supplies, boxes, etc.), things should be back of house. Bathrooms need attention. Service was friendly and quick, but lacked forethought. So I give you credit for being responsive, but it needs more anticipation. Server was an “order taker” and did little to nothing to engage, make suggestions, etc. I really think a couple of days of cleanup and attention to detail and a little effort with service would take this place to the next level. OLD: Good food, decent service, rough venue.
Best Indian restaurant in Grand Rapids by far. Paneer tikka masala is my favorite but it’s all amazing for very fair prices.
South Asian cuisine is quickly becoming one of my favorites and I have tried a little bit from so many restaurants, but Indian Masala is the gold standard. The chicken is always so tender, the daal so creamy, naan so soft and buttery - everything is so flavorful and executed so perfectly. Every time I am in Grand Rapids, Michigan this is my first stop. The staff is so friendly and helpful (as much Indian food I have eaten, I don't know a single thing about it). If you are unsure of what to order, stick with samplers on their menu, it will give you a wide spread of appetizers and mains that are most commonly ordered. I would recommend Indian Masala to anyone that already loves South Asian Cuisine, and all of those that are hesitant to try.
