Imasa Nori Sushi Izakaya

I couldn’t love this place more. The food was perfect and the staff is amazing. They made suggestions and were super friendly. I keep thinking about this meal and if I lived in the city I would be there everyday.

Came here on a Friday evening with a friend. Although it was crowded, we managed to get a table upon entering. King Crab Dragon Roll ($23) consisted of spicy king crab, tempura flakes and asparagus topped with eel, avocado, tobiko, and wasabi sauce. There was a lot of different tastes packed into these 8 bite pieces and it was delicious. Post Roll ($19) consisted of spicy salmon, tempura flakes, fresh mango topped with blackened tuna, sweet shrimp, eel, avocado, and tobiko. The flavor profiles of this was also phenomenal, between the mango, eel, and spicy salmon, definitely need to savor every bite. The one thing that stood out to me that my friend order was the Amazing Sandwich. They were not kidding that it would be bite sized triangle pieces served to you as a sandwich, not just a name. That piece wasn't as flavorful as what I ordered as it was just spicy crunchy tuna, spicy crab, and avocado. But kudos for creativity.

We came here because of the high ratings but I think it's because of the affordable lunch menu. Taste wise I would not come here again.

Every time we come to New York, this restaurant is our first destination. The quality is excellent, the fish is fresh and everything is very well presented. The staff is very pleasant, always ready to present the dishes or find you a table as quickly as possible if you don't have a reservation. I recommend the tuna rolls and the miso soup, they are delicious. We first came on opening day in August 2023, and when we came back last week I was delighted to see that six months later and after gaining popularity, the quality was still as good. The prices are really okay for the quality and you can have a good meal for less than 25$. It truly is the best restaurant in New York!
